Regardless if it's their Winter or Summer catalog, every detail in each image is styled and decorated to perfection. It's lived in, warm and rich in color palette. I love their mix of French and Italian inspired furnishings with all the vintage pieces. Yes, their models and clothing are incredible, but it's always the sets that I love most.

Shaw's Original Fir...
But you have to be so THIN!
@nihilarian
THANK YOU! I thought it was just me.
@nihilarian and emmagrace
and rolling around in cash
if i were thin and rolling in cash, i would shop nowhere else
I have four shops close by! I try to stay away. Often I have tried to purchase their own store displays..nobody does it better!
If you starve yourself, with all the money you save on food, you can afford and fit into their clothes. ;) I love that second image the semi-outdoor room. Awesommmme.
I agree, Bethany, love the sets as well. I am a frustrated Set Decorator.
I miss Anthropologie sooooooooo much. I miss friends in America, too, um...
Anthro really does have a great sale rack. I have so many things from there that I found awesome deals on. If you like their clothes and small home goods, it really is worth checking out.
For LA residents, the Santa Monica location has a giant sale ROOM, and the Pasadena location has free parking and is right next to the best/least expensive Mediterranean cuisine in town (Burger Continental).
I just don't get AT's obsession w/ Antro:
Who in their right mind would plunk down $6500 for a sofa or $3300 for a chair that looks like something your unemployed barista neighbor cobbled together from scraps of old clothing and twine stolen off the back of a bike messenger?
ha--I thought I was the only dork who saved all the anthro catalogues!
and bepsf--I don't see even a scrap of twine on that gold tufted leather sofa!!!
Flawless catalogs and products that are bewitched with some spell that makes you desire each and every item!
i love the first pic -- i too have it on file. I love that ceiling fan! anyone know where to buy a similar one?
i aspire to have my home look like their catalog! also, i would love to work for them!
I am another Anthropologie fan. It's so much more my style than the modern and MCM things that are often featured here on AT.
I have drooled over their catalogs for years, and have many of the pictures in my inspiration book. I was beyond thrilled to learn that we are getting an Anthropologie store next year. In Grand Rapids, Michigan!! It's so unbelievable that I never even considered the thought. I can't wait until I can go browse everything in person.
High ceilings. Cannot be sold by mail order, alas.
I ADORE Anthropologie. And some of their house stuff isn't expensive at all, even when not on sale. Have you all seen their latest catalog? I just got it in the mail yesterday or the day before. It's all shot in the woods, and it's AMAZING...I want to live in the little cabin featured in it, decorated entirely with Anthropolotie stuff, of course :-)
Very happy to know I'm not the only one who keeps the catalogs...drool over every page. And yup, I used to work photo shoots on the editorial side....and I'd work for Anthro for FREE if I had even the slightest chance....
Did you know that people SELL Anthro catalogs on ebay....I've seen them go for over $100 for a years worth!
what?! selling anthro catalog online? That's a bit crazy..
OK.. I'm another ANTHRO nerd. I absolutely ADORE their stuff and yes I kept all their catalogs too.. I've been missing anthro since I move back to Sydney. Btw Sibella Court styled some of Anthro's home section set (I think September) & she's having a flea market sale tomorrow.. in Sydney OZ :)) She's the author of etcetera (etc) which is sold in anthro.
Coincidentally I was just ranting abt anthro & Sibella's flea market on my blog too! So it is very fitting to find all my anthro groupies here... lol

I've gotten many a pair of pants from there for under $30, they really do have the best sales. I thought their clothes were cut pretty generously in most of the brands they carry
The displays and styling are fantastic, but in terms of merchandise I like the lingerie and tableware best--delicate, pretty things I can use every day. The price points on those items are also much more realistic for me than most of the other stuff in the store.
When I walk into Anthro, I head straight for the back, to the sale section, without even looking at the regular priced items. The furniture is out of control expensive, but, you can get great ideas to DIY from Craigslist. And their home sale section is great for linens, knobs and tableware! Join their Anthro club and you'll save 15% (in my case) for your bday...in case you really want something not on sale :)
coincidence? While you were posting, I was at the Grove in the store, in person, with the dog, and drooling at everything I really didn't need. Came away with an entire bedding collection. Why? Because I had to have it. Great dreams - about far away places that I'll probably never see, but for Anthropologie.
@hattyinla -- when i go to the grove i have two destinations: the taschen store to look at their design books, and anthropologie to drool over all their home stuff. :)
I also love the anthro catalog. I do think that a great deal of the appeal comes from the very carefully chosen architecture and backdrops they use... things just look better in a wood-planked warehouse space or an expansive villa than they do in a small apartment I'm afraid. (A lot of their ideas would look grandma in my small space but come off as much more chic in a blank warehouse space with tons of light.) And I agree that everything is very overpriced. The only things I own from anthropologie are accessories - things like soap dishes and vases are reasonably priced and can add a bit of flair when you don't have the money for most of their stuff. And I agree that the actual pieces they sell are often unremarkable, but it's the way that everything is put together and the general feel that I love... I think the appeal of the styling is that it LOOKS like stuff you could find at a flea market, but pieces like these are often very hard to find. (I question bepsf's comment about a barista neighbor being able to have this chic a space... I think it looks deceptively easy). Sorta reminds me of the episode of Friends where Rachel tells Phoebe everything she buys comes from a flea market and makes up a story for everything which can be believed because the pieces are meant to look old, when in fact it's all from Pottery Barn.
@baba yaga--

They make Horchow look downright reasonable!
Gotta love anthro...
I am one who thinks their catalogs pale in comparison to the actual store experience.
Also find that also while I like the clothes and have purchased espeically the sweaters and a boiled wool coat and their scarves (which are often not priced too high)
they don't look the same without the surrounding atmosphere of the store.
That is not true of their home things!! They really work if you love them.
Almost all of Antho's things go on sale at some point.
I bought one of their first huge station clocks when they decided to sell their own store displays. Really don't know what I would use that is as interesting to fill a huge wall that leads to a lower level basement, but can been seen right in the family room. It's been up for years and most everyone comments on the clock.
They still make them but they are not as detailed and hand made looking.
Sorry, bepsf--
if you want your furniture to look like your crazy great aunt made in with her teeth using stuff she found in a dumpster--YOU GOTTA PAY!!!
