A $69 mouse pad? Really? I have an extra large mouse/keyboard pad I made from two $3 Bed Bath and Beyond laminated place mats and painter's tape.
yes people still use mouse pads. i don't get why people don't think that you need them anymore. first of all i have an optical mouse and a glass desk. that doesn't work. Yes, a laser can solve that but I still use them at hoe with a laser mouse.
Why? because my first desk was recycled steel, not the best on your mouse or your hand. Now i custom made a wood top. I don't want to rub a spot into the desk from mousing all day and rub the finnish off of it.
Plus it's all about texture. you need the right glide and feeling to be comfortable.
I always use a mouse pad. It seems like mice work better w/ them. Plus, I hate the sound of pusing a mouse around on a hard surface.
But a leather mouse pad...blech.
I also have a glass desk. Even a laser mouse doesn't work on it. So yes, people still need mouse pads.
I'm in need of a good mouse pad too. But not sure a $69 mouse pad - that seems just a little too expensive.
I have a hideous mousepad w/a wrist rest because I'm at my desk a lot and it starts hurting after a while! I prefer not using it, but my wrist does not. I use a wrist rest for my keyboard as well.
I take them both off once in a while for some freedom and style, but putting them back is like lying in a soft bed at night. Laying yourself on a sleek surface would be more stylish, but...
Deasu, that's great, but what does your ingenuity have to do with this article? Isn't your comment akin to seeing a high-end light fixture on this site and saying there's no point because you bought a perfectly functional lamp at Wal-Mart?
These are really, really nice mousepads that look fantastic in a room, are customizable, and are quite comfortable to use. I have two of them and consider them money well-spent. But sure, I could construct something else that would do the same job.
