The 'Made by Hand' film project was "created out of the belief that the things we collect, consume, use, and share are part of who we are as individuals... Where did they come from? Who made them? How were they made?" These questions led to a series of short films, the goal of which is to promote small, independent companies who make things locally, sustainably, and with a love for craft. (The first film, shown above, goes behind the scenes at the Breuckelen Distilling Company, the first gin distiller in Brooklyn since prohibition.)
The next film slated for the series is The Knife Maker, a look at writer turned knife maker Joel Bukiewicz of Cut Brooklyn.
