When we came across the photographs of the Madrid home of fashion designer David Delfin and architect turned photograph Gorka Postigo, we were simply blown away. This is what we consider a loft done right. It's clean, modern and refined, but with just the right amount of eroticism to make it sexy and unexpected.

Featured on the carefully curated online design publication Yatzer, the Delfin-Postigo house is a study in design restraint. The white walls and open floor plan keep the abundant art, objects and furniture from feeling too cluttered or overwhelming. With artwork by Louise Bourgeois, Diane Arbus and Gorka's daughter-in-law (painted when she was three) and furniture by design icons like Serge Mouille, Jean Prouve and Charles Eames, each piece obviously deserves equal attention.

Shaw's Original Fir...
It is striking, for sure, but the living area looks like a doctor's waiting room.
Three-year-old daughter-in-law? What don't I know about Spain?
(or am I just too tired to figure out a way that this doesn't involve pedophilia?)
Kelleyk, I think its like when your child-in-law has a sibling.
Is your brother-in-law's brother your brother-in-law as well? In some families they'd instantly say yes in others they'd say no its some random guy who is the brother of your brother-in-law.
Too cool for school. You know they adopted that dog because it matched their house. I don't know these two and they already annoy me. I would give my left lung for that painting though, the scary one.
That's a bit snide--I've met people who were actually inspired by their pets in their decor choices.
I love it all, except for the awful green rug.
This a wonderful, highly personal space. It has art and design classics without looking as if the owners took out their wallet and went down a list of must-buys.
FYI - I think perhaps "daughter-in-law" is a mis-translation of "step-daughter."
Fantastic. Great play between the light and the beautiful mid-century pieces.
I think it looks too styled - very well done though.
PS According to the article in Yatzer the drawings were made by his daughter-in-law when she was three years old.
I know this house. David Delfín is a fashion designer in Madrid, his house is cool, I love the Eames chairs and I want them for me, but I think this loft is a bit cold, i don´t find emotions in it.
Wow... pedophilia?? mis-translation??
Big photo caption: "Gorka's daughter in law, who painted those drawings when she was 3 years old"...
"... some images contain nudity."
How refreshing! You got my attention there! ;)
Very cool place... it's a photo shoot, they had the place totally cleaned up and set up for the pics...
I love the green rug-- I think it's what keeps the room from getting too cold. And I love the interplay between the smooth white and the wood throughout the pictures.
I was also creeped out by the 'three-year-old daughter-in-law' as well (too...many...hyphens...). But, once again, the editors didn't proof-read. According to the article, "Gorka's daughter in law, who painted those drawings when she was 3 years old..."
Anyway, anyone know the exact location of this in Madrid? It looks abnormally industrial for the city.
And I'm swooning over the Perriand side chairs. They're perfect!
I have not loved a home this much in a long time. So interesting.
I love this style of modern design... it is not TOO minimal. It still feels inviting, cool, chic, livable. It seems like the inhabitants would be the best people to hang out with, like they would throw great dinner parties. I love all the light and the bright white interior - all of the color really pops and everything looks intentional. They have really made their decor fit the space beautifully.
And what - they aren't allowed to have a white dog?
yes, I think the "you know they adopted that dog because it matched their house" is an odd one. Dogs come in white, brown and black...which happens to be the dominant colors of most peoples homes. Really nice house however, really personal style mostly through the art selection. I worry about the sweeping and cleaning of the white floors, dunno if that is practical...but love the overall style, very cool.
"eroticism"?
