So you bought the perfect new pair of headphones, huh? Well now you'll need somewhere to keep them. And since you probably blew a ton of money buying that new set of cans, you're going to want to check out these clever DIY headphone stands from around the web, made from mostly re-used and recycled pieces.
Need a headphone stand quickly and cheaply? Turn to the experts.
By experts, of course, we mean the headphone-obsessed users on audiophile forum Head-Fi. They've been the gatekeepers of a 5-year old thread called "THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD" (Their caps lock, not ours) that's full of do-it-yourself inspiration for creating headphone stands.
Most of them are all made from re-used and recycled pieces, meaning your new-to-you headphone stand will also be green. But the most surprising part? They all have a really great design aesthetic. Besides a few "stands" made of hacked-up CD spindles, any of them would look great sitting out on your desk or media center.
We've rounded up our favorites in the gallery above. But if you want to read the whole 50-page long comment thread (We weren't joking on the 5-year thing; the first post was made in 2007), check it out here.
