A big thanks to all the thoughtful comments in today's earlier post, 9 Home Truths We Tend to Forget (That Are Worth Remembering). We loved all the additions readers made to the list, but the first comment of the post really stuck out.
This Apartment Therapy reader comment on what element just might be the most important to make sure your home has, comes from Rookie:
"Putting the "you stamp" on your home is the most important. We all get caught up in the design of the moment, we run out and purchase that look and then when the trend has warned, we are stuck maybe with it and struggle to "redo" to catch the next look. STOP! I believe that there is a design element called "me". It is what ever you have, whatever you like, and whatever makes your home a place of comfort and haven for you. You don't have to be rich, have a lot of money, a college degree (sorry college grads), but just a little ingenuity, a little time, and a little creativity ( yours ) and your home will be an expression of you and your friends will feel welcome. Recycle, refurbish, rethink! A pup tent can be fabulous if the feeling is an inviting one!"
Spot on, Rookie. Thank you for chiming in!
