My 4-year-old is under the impression that unicorns are just extinct like dinosaurs and I'm not sure I care to disabuse him of this notion. Unicorns are a bit girly-twirly and a bit retro 70s/80s. While I wouldn't want a whole "unicorn room" in my house, I could live with a nod to this mythical beast here or there.

When I was five my dad asked me want I'd like him to bring back from a business trip he was taking. I told him I wanted a unicorn stuffed animal with WINGS. It was very important it have both wings and a horn. I got a unicorn stuffed animal and a pegasus stuffed animal because apparently the two rarely breed in stuffed form (at least in the 80s). I remember being disappointed. I think I was a jerk.
