Tuned to sound like the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, the Woodpecker Clock designed by Natalie Duckett is our sort of alarm clock. We're not prone to be the "ignore the alarm" type, so something more pleasant like the natural patter of a woodpecker appeals to our senses (pardon the pun). You can even switch out the "beak" to change the sound, which is an ingenious detail. Watch a video of the Woodpecker Clock in action below.
The woodpecker alarm clock is designed to enhance our waking experience by improving our sleep rhythm. Two alarms will signal each day; one morning and one evening alarm. This is to indicate to the user when to begin their sleep routine to improve the duration and quality of their sleep to at least 8 hours.
More about the Woodpecker Clock at Natalie Duckett's website (she's looking for someone to help her take it from prototype to consumer product, and we hope someone soon does...we'd be amongst the first to order a clock).
