When we were posting a good question asking about an upholstery project earlier this week, we recommended The Needle Shop...and after reading the interested comments we thought we'd better add it to our store guide. We first heard about this DIY resource last year and were happy to hear from the owner this week that, in addition to their classes, they now sell fabrics, too...
Located one block west of Damen on Charleston at Hoyne, (close to the blue line, and on the #50 bus route), The Needle Shop works for both new and seasoned crafters.
- Baby Blanket
- Upholstery Basics
- Basic Curtains
- Box Cushion
- Duvet Cover with Shams
There are also basic sewing classes, screen printing, embroidery, and clothing and tote bag workshops - plenty to keep Chicagoans busy until the warm weather is back again.
The new good news is the fabrics which Rachel emailed us about after our last post: "We have a new fabric store now too! Tons of great dress, quilting, upholstery and oil cloth fabrics. fyi. :)"
According to the site, they carry "Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry, Alexander Henry, Kokka and many more! Tons of great upholstery weights as well!"
