We've seen peeks of Rita Konig's Greenwich Village apartment when she was on the staff of Domino and through her regular columns on T Style blog, The Moment. In New York Magazine, Wendy Goodman sums up Rita's decorating style as the "best British decorating traditions."
Rita has embraced the quirks of her 700-square-foot one-bedroom rental and I love that she thinks "All houses need a little ugly."

Her column was the only thing in Domino I could not abide. I think she's incredibly lucky that her mother was in the business, as I sincerely doubt that she'd have gotten any credibility in this field on her own.
Sounds like somone is a little jelly! Try & understand that she is a successful interior designer & author. If Rita Konig was playing on her Mum's name, would she not be actually using her Mum's name? So you don't get it- maybe her style is a little more, developed, shall we say, that what appreciate...
not appreciating her taste doesn't mean her taste is "more developed." nothing can be loved by everyone and no one loves everything. it's okay to not dig something.
i personally don't like the floral brit look, but this certainly does transform her apartment to seem not nyc.
Your right- I guess I just snapped at someone starting a discussion with such a negative, personal attack. I should not have followed.
I love Ms Konig's style and her column in The New York Times. She has a light, cheerful way of writing and decorating that come across as warm and accessible.
Were there more than the two interior images? I couldn't find more. I think this looks like a comfy nice place but it doesn't really strike me as very English.
As a fellow Interior Designer in Nashville Tn. Hearthstone Interior Design. I commend you on your chose of wallpaper.
"I liked the apartment’s higgledy-piggledy-ness"
Whoa.
i liked the original spread in the Domino mag. What i never understood is why/how magazine people make so much money?
Everyone in the design world knows Konig is Nina Campbell's daughter. I don't like her writing style, and I've not really seen the appeal of her. The apt. featured above is nice enough--nothing to object to, certainly.
"Insider" access to trades and other sources stretch a design budget very far....
Oh, how I miss Domino...
I loved what I saw of her apartment in Domino. She had a very nice mix of things. Personable, but not cluttered.
Also, she gave really good advice here:

Very few magazine writers make much money. Fewer everyday since magazines are closing. I presume Rita has family money or has scraped together a bit here and there from her work, such as interior design.
Even though not everything everbody does is always to my personal taste, what does that matter? I find her style and writing charming and refreshing. She is also so unpretentious. I look forward to her column every week.
