There were fewer new offerings for kids in this year's Ikea catalog compared to last year which saw the introduction of the Stuva line among other things, but we wanted to let you know about some new furniture pieces called Sundvik.
We know many of you think toddler-size beds are unnecessary, but they can be a godsend for small homes and apartments so we were happy to see a new one ($110) added to Ikea's offerings - and with a built-in safety rail. They've also introduced a new kids table ($39) which is close in size to their others and chairs ($20 each). The Sundvik pieces come in white or brown-black.
So...not the most exciting pieces, but certainly functional and affordable.

Shaw's Original Fir...
this is nice and all but...when are the cribs coming back!!
KatieG1234 You can bet I'm keeping tabs on Ikea and the crib situation! A spokesperson recently told me that the Gulliver and Sundvik in white cribs would be available "soon." I'll keep readers posted as best I can.
yes!! keep us posted! I have been looking everyday. I am expecting in March, so I have some time to wait, but it would be nice to know when they are available again!
Oh please please please dear Ikea, have this bed in black soon!!!!! It will be perfect for my kids shared room then!!!!!
i really hope this come in stock soon! my son is just about to figure out he can climb out of his crib and even though we have a toddler bed that we are borrowing, this is a much better fit for him.
a rep i spoke to told me the cribs would be back in store in October. i'm not holding my breath. i can only stave off my delivery for so long ;-)
I'm due in November and getting really antsy about not having a crib... don't let me down Ikea! (PS I already have my back-up crib picked out just in case...)
love love love the twenty dollar chairs!!!!
megtayann- our kids did not sleep in there cribs until they were about three months old- used pack n play in our room or a bassinett. just fyi :)
@fooxoo: I have plenty of their brown-black furniture, it's barely brown! Would definitely blend seamlessly with black furniture.
