I've been in this apartment - I was doing camera work on a short documentary a friend was directing on Peter, the guy who owns this apartment. It's crazy! So many interesting things to look at. Some kind of creepy too. There's a lot of moving parts to the place - strings that activate puppets and such. It's an awesome experience being in there, but I would never want to live in it.

Interesting, it´s way of life.
I will now be more selective on the things I bring home from trips and will hold myself back when buying my old odd stuff on E Bay.

When I worked at the Museum of Natural History, I knew several people who had homes like this. It's actually a "look," albeit one for people who prefer the Explorer's Club newsletter to Elle Decor.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is pretty damn cool looking but my oh my, that place looks like a dust magnate.

Wowzers.

It makes my heart flutter, and I'm not sure how to interpret that.

I don't think I could spend more than ten minutes in that place for fear I'd have a seizure.

i dig it, but don't know that i could stand not having any blank space.
i'd want a room that was completely empty and one color, lol.
and yes, i can't imagine dusting everything.

Wow. I'm glad that there are people who make their homes look exactly how they want them to look, with no adherence to any "rules" or trends.

I kind of love it. It's a little more than I would want - but only a little, not a lot. And the dust would be an issue. But it's a joyful space, full of interesting thing to feast your eyes on, and I can't say that the minimalist places the design-police tend to love. I used to think people's spaces reflected them, that cool,.controlled people wanted quiet minimalist space, and exuberant, outgoing people wanted colorful, full spaces. But now I'm coming to think that it's often the opposite, that we yearn for balance from our spaces. I'm a little depressive, and I need color to feel awake. I think people who are more anxious or manic need soothing spaces. But maybe I'm completely wrong, who knows?

I love it, but I'd hurt myself with so much to bang into! It makes my clutter issues seem tame, though, so the contrast is delightful!

I am surprised that a family actually lives there. Am sure there are some interesting items there that would be fun to examine but my time would be limited, my asthma would react in this place.

Who cleans that place? There are some prime items in that collection (I like the rugs), but I feel as if there should be price tags to be dangling from all of that stuff. What bothers me most is the fabric tacked to the ceiling. There is a hippy-dippy restaurant in my town that does that (the fabric is covering a water-damaged ceiling), and the cloth is always full of gunk.

I'm not a neatnik, but I do need some sense of order in a room. Are the bedrooms in this place free of clutter?

Reminds me of one of my colleagues' office, although he doesn't have carpet nailed to the ceiling. Here, the sheer density of things take's it up a notch (and a bit over the top for me).

have to say, its pretty rocking. i couldn't have it in my house, but if you love collections and ethnic items it's like a little respite away from the City! feels very ecclectic and eccentric. much love!

HELLO, DUST!

I adore it! The dust would be an issue, yeah, and it'd have to be confined to one room and the rest of the place less... full, but it's so cool! You could explore that room for hours and hours, I think. Love it!

Part of me would really love to live like that, especially the walls completely covered in pictures, but I could never keep it clean.

i'd hate to do the dusting!
