It seems like you can pretty much do anything while in Northern Liberties now a days, and it's pretty exciting. There are modern apartment buildings sprouting up all over the place and it's great that there's now a free outdoor plaza. I'm talking about the newly opened Piazza At Schmidts.

June is Outdoors month at Apartment Therapy and who wouldn't love a beautifully landscaped, 80,000 square foot open-air plaza with free events year-round? Surrounded by three new buildings including 35 artist’s studios and boutiques, four new restaurants, 500 apartments and 50,000 square feet of office space in the Northern Liberties neighborhood.
The outdoor Piazza At Schmidts has a packed schedule for the summer, and the plus side- they're all free! The landscaping is great, and I love that it's in the middle of amazing renovated old factories that are now apartments.

Great post of an interesting new place in our city! Keep the coverage of Philadelphia coming!!!
I love that there are more and more Philly posts on AT! Yay!
This is even more gorgeous in person. Can't believe this was all vacant land and a bit foreboding a year ago!! No. Libs has come so far.
i've checked this place out recently and when i entered the "plaza" it was very overwhelming. it was on a day when there wasn't some event going on and the place which is a sea of pavement felt hot and uncomfortably large. it is also surrounded on all sides by enormous modernistic buildings that makes me feel like i am in an eastern block housing project. they should have alloted for more green space.
