This is a fireplace for those who just can't stand the heat (or don't have a fireplace). The Plaza Fireplace ($3350) was designed by Conmoto and Seiger Design of Germany and "due to the fact that the open flame is produced by tins of burning gel, plaza may be placed anywhere in the home without it having to be connected to a chimney."
Just sent in by P2, it has us wondering if life really would be better if we had one of these in our small apartment - one of these and a lot of tins of burner gel. (Thanks, P2!)

I like your swing!
Great display of natural wood, unique pieces, open space and earthy colors what an excellent balance!
A window seat with a bookshelf underneath is a little utopia, in my opinion!
This room could not possibly be more perfect. I adore it!
I agree with the comment above by Annie.
& The kitchen is wonderful .
very cool...
Lovely Cindy! Can you let us know what grey that is?
Cool tour. House tour please.
I second the vote for a full house tour. Love love love your dining table and the lighting above.
Hi, it's Cindy. Thank you for all the kind comments! :)
Kristen, the grey paint is Benjamin Moore White Water. It's a light grey with blue undertones.
Wonderful home design! Is the light fixture over the dining table from CB2? Also, would love to know where you got your dining table from.
Thanks!
Love this kitchen! Cindy - where did your overhead lights come from?
The lights are from CB2, and I clustered 3 in a row.
The dining table was custom-made by David Ellison at Lorimer Workshop in Rhode Island. I think his tables have been featured on Apartment Therapy before. He's really great--he worked with me from beginning to end to make sure that the table turned out just how I wanted it! I first visited his workshop to get some ideas, and then ended up sending him a photo of a live-edge table I really liked that had metal legs. He was able to weld the legs himself. Later, I visited his workshop again to see the options for stains in person. After I picked one and he sent me photos of the stained table, I asked for it to be tweaked just a bit, and he did exactly what I requested. I'm so happy with the table!
I love the kitchen. Where is the red and white rug from?
Thanks! It's the Brita Sweden Anna rug. I bought it from Scandinavian design center, but it's also available from other websites.
Seconded on the House Tour request! I can't believe how peaceful you've made such an open space!
very chic and cool!
Hi Cindy, Daniela and Mark sent me over here, what a gorgeous room!
Wonderful use of the space. Very stylish and I vote for a full house tour.
Loved the feel of open space in your home. Your choice of fabrics was excellent.
Nice, I like, but I think some kilims on the floor could look awesome!
