We've posted about the stencil library before. But Cafe Cartolina just reminded us what an awesome resource this is. We're loving their new take on 18th century English country house print rooms where prints pasted directly on the walls with paper borders pasted around them to give the impression of frames. You could also stencil a monogram is the space for the print. What would you put in the repeating motif?

The first few appear rather tasteful...
...but the green room looks like a sports bar and the orange room looks like a dressing room in a Ralph Lauren store.
how do they apply the prints?
I'm not wild about these at all. However, it in the right room with some Victorian furniture, they would add to the style.
The second one looks like a Foxfire wallpaper. lol!
The one at the top is fabulous, the others...not so much. In an eclectic room, that would be fantastic...but I think you would need to have some contemporary pieces in the room.
I love Stencil Library.
They have no equal for non "country duck" stencils.
It helps if you're creative.
In the second picture.... are those DANCING SQUIRRELS??
I just bought this very elaborate stencil set from them called (I think) "Fade", and it's kind of a large version of a half-tone fade thing which would make a very beautiful modern transition from one color to another.
I really want to use it somewhere!
The dancing squirrel is Squirrel Nutkin, a Beatrix Potter character! http://www.amazon.com/Tale-Squirrel-Nutkin-Potter/dp/0723247714#reader
How DO they apply the prints?
the dancing squirrel is Squirrel Nutkin (a character by Beatrix Potter).
Thank you AT for the mention and to readers for the comments. I am one of the team that stencilled these room sets. The prints can be adhered to the wall with either a spray repositioning adhesive such as 3m Spraymount or by using a wallpaper adhesive. If you would like to interchange the prints then I reccomend the spray. If decorating a screen, a box or something similar I use the wallpaper border adhesive then apply varnish a couple of days later but walls do not need this protection. Yes they were Squirrel Nutkin pictures!
To stick the printed images to a wall...you can use clear acrylic medium. Liquitex makes a matte one or a glossy one. You apply a nice thin layer to the back---stick the image and then make sure you coat the top as well.
