Last year I wrote about the blog Fed Up With Lunch authored by an anonymous public school teacher who ate, photographed and wrote about 162 school lunches as a way to raise awareness of the food being served to students in her school and around the country. The blog became a book, recently released by Chronicle Books, and "Mrs. Q." has revealed her identity.

Mrs. Q's real name is Sarah Wu and she is a speech pathologist in the Chicago Public School System. She is still maintaining the blog and is promoting the book and generating discussion about how to improve school lunches with appearances on Good Morning America (her big reveal), a taped but yet to air appearances on Nightline and articles in The Chicago Tribune and USA Today.

My child is not of school age yet, but looking at the photos of the lunches Sarah Wu (and the students in her school) ate was a real eye opener. Many parents will send their own lunch with their child instead, but hundreds of thousands of kids across the country rely on the school lunch to fill their bellies and I hope Ms. Wu's book adds a lot more fire to a growing awareness and debate about how to improve what we're feeding America's children.

You can find Fed Up With Lunch: How One Anonymous Teacher Revealed the Ugly Truth About School Lunches - And How We Can Change Them! at your local bookstore, library or purchase it through Chronicle Books.
