• Title: The Redeploy Rug
• Materials: wool exterior, wool-blend interior
• Price Point: $800 - $1000
Description: The Redeploy Rug combines the necessary durability of military surplus blankets with the organic fluidity of a topographic-esque pattern. With a stitch and a stuff they come together to transform your floor into an inviting landscape.
The rug shown draws on the beauty and durability of 100% wool Russian army blankets from the 1950's. After the stitched pattern is in place, the blankets are carefully hand-stuffed with wool-blend army surplus blankets and finished with an edge detail that emphasizes the organic lines.
The Redeploy Rug is the first in a series of military surplus based products by Rauser Design.

FAVORITE DESIGNER

• Favorite Designer: I admire Eero Saarinen’s ability to create sweeping architectural forms; from the scale of an airport down to the scale of a single chair, achieving what would become an iconic design with each.
FAVORITE DESIGN

• Favorite Design: Saarinen’s womb chair is sleek and modern yet feminine and comfortable, a difficult combination to achieve. It evokes a sophisticated future and someday I will have one in red.

love saarinen and love the rug!!
I love the rug but, I also love her place and want to see more!
its interesting.
hey this maddie u rock
I love the rug's organic beauty. Seems like it would be very pleasant to touch.
one of the coolest things ever.
i'll trade you a rug for a quilted map.
If I understand the display of those paperbacks like I think I do, THAT is something we all need some access to! Meanwhile, I think I like the rug.
The rug is COOL, but un-vacuumable. All those crevasses? All that dust, dirt, and dog hair? Aiiee.
Love the paperback display. Been thinking about devoting a wall to antique children's books.
I love the rug, but frankly it's not practical. As noted earlier, the grooves do not appear vacuumable and the composition of the rug would appear to make it incapable of being washed or professionally cleaned.
haptician, let's make that happen!
Curtis and Mary B C, there is more information about the the sci-fi paperback shelf on my website. www.rauserdesign.com
Really beautiful.
What typeface did you use for the periodic table "RAUSER" image? I love the typeface, whatever it is. And the design is very clever.
John H, I'm not quite sure what you mean about the composition of the rug. Wool is one of the best, most maintenance free materials for a floor covering. I'm also not too worried about the creases. A good vacuum can take care of that. I bet it's less hassle than a shag rug.
I'm a mother of six children, and grandmother of six children, I'm still down on the floor at their level reading, and playing and hugging. What a wonderful idea, and not just an idea, but a work of art, from a mother putting the two together.
Very Graphic!
Tell me more about this floating baby.
I have a cat who sheds like water going through a sieve, and I think this is *more* doable in my home than most other rugs. Because of the texture he wouldn't use it as a scratching post. Because of the tight weave of the fabric, fur strands wouldn't infiltrate the weave, but would lay on top. Even if they were to gravitate to the crevices, they'd be easier to vacuum up.
Well done. Very well done.
And the floating high chair is da bomb.
funstraw - it's the metoo travel highchair by phil & teds.
Looks wonderful and I bet it is comfortable.
