Since falling in love with the staircase in The Yarra House earlier in the year, we've been instantly drawn to homes with similar looking staircases. The Ross Street House by Robert Mills Architect has a beauty and it's not just the staircase that is impressive.
Huge floor to ceiling frameless windows, some with zinc awning blades make this house feel incredibly open and bright. The zinc kitchen cabinetry and benchtops look sleek without being cold. That beautiful curving steel staircase. The Ross Street House is a very attractive building and has been decorated impeccably. Is this home our style? No, but as with all good architecture we sure can appreciate the socks off it.

Gorgeous house though I need a little more warmth. While I think these garage doors don't stand out much, am I the only one who is not a big fan of garage doors in front of the house- I hate the car-centricness (I realize this is not a word) of it all.
I, too hate front-dwelling garages. Considering the size and shape of the lot - its pretty narrow - I don't think there were many options as to where to put it. I think it looks great where it is! Its recessed and they chose great materials for it. However, I agree, there needs to be more warmth inside!
O to the M to the G! These modern minimalist homes are my design porn and AT has been giving me my fix lately!!!

I think this home looks like art and I wouldn't change a thing.
That is one HELL of a rug - more luxurious than I could bear.
BTW, I am stealing the phrase "appreciate the socks off it" :)
Does anyone know the source for the rug?
