Z2 iPod Dock and Wi...
I've seen plenty of house tours that have stacked books 5 feet high. Its one of those ideas that seem great until the first time it falls over, since its probably functioning as a "unique" stand for your fishbowl or antique flea market vase. But I guess maybe this is something for single people without kids?
Please stop with the 'ladies.' Please. We aren't living in the 1950s. And 'girls,' don't get me started. We're women, damn it!
Interesting wall piece ?
I disagree. I have zero problem with "ladies" or "girls" just like I don't mind being included in "guys" or "y'all." It's an interior design website, we needn't be so formal.
1) I loved them all! There's something unique about a single person's home. They tend to flow more and sticking to the same style/theme throughout. They also seem more daring.
2) I don't have a problem with "girls" or "ladies". If "women" was the only word we used to describe someone with ladyparts it would get old, quickly.
Besides I like being 27 and still called a "girl". Just don't call me ma'am.
The "women" have done a wonderful job! I loved everything except for the expletive wall art, but that is just me.
I loved the expletive wall art, but then again, I'm a big fan of Regretsy.
I've been called so many worse things that woman, lady, ma'am, Ms., y'all, and Mrs. are all fine but, being 52, I contradict people who call me girl unless they're elderly. Guys is OK if there's at least one male present, otherwise it's somewhat offensive. It's a personal preference.
The colorful expletive wall art in an office or craft room? Sure, no problem. In an entry way? Not the first impression I want to make.
Don't have a problem with "ladies" at all, but goddammit, calling grown women "girls" has got to stop. Women are so often infantilized it's ridiculous.
ummm wow.. really enjoying the wall art in the one picture.. lol didn't expect that on this site. :P
I like this post. I enjoy seeing what people do with their pad when they don't have to compromise with the design.
So now we have the "f" word turning up on ATNY. Disappointing, really. Why do people feel compelled to design to the lowest common denominator?
Did anyone else notice: the link to Angela's Posh Pad leads to Suki's Gem On The Hill? I really would like to see the right link, the picture looks so nice!
When you bare it all, people don't want to move on to the rest--which might really be more interesting and enticing. Why did you have to start the tour with that completely inappropriate statement?
LOVE IT! Every single inch. Great job!
fuck, lighten up. cute corgi.
Actually, one thing that makes a person turn away from these pages is the long scroll of comments that add up to nothing more than a bunch of snivelers airing their weirdest hang ups. 8^/
I thought it was a corgi. That seems like a really nice breed.
@minnis Thanks for the call-out. The link to Angela's Posh Pad has been fixed. :)
I'm with Jerid on this one, about the wall art AND the cute dog.
Golly gosh, I just want to crowd into her entryway and just be OFFENDED with everyone, don't you?
Are people still clutching their pearls over "Fuck It"? ROFL
@ELFay- (And others) Don't act like it is old fashioned to be offended at the expletive on the wall. "Clutching their pearls?" Acting like people are so ridiculous for feeling differently than you do is way more dis-respectful than being called "ladies."
Personally I am only mildly offended at the statement on the wall. Mostly I just find it dis-tasteful of A.T. to post it as the main photo.
Wow she';s cool! Her wall says "F*CK". Not. Me no likies. IT's dumb and unnecessary. One day not too far from now, she will reminisce about the futility of her wall art. lol.
texaninexile, I want to be called lady lol. By the way, despite the swearing, there s a nice poppy use of color. What a dichotomy...
Yes, well, just wait until a potential employer, landlord, mother-in-law, whomever, is looking for a character reference and comes across this photo, with her smiling primly in front of this offensive word. I doubt I would hire her if she showed such bad judgment in posting a photo like this.
You people are ridiculous.
i call for a boycott against beyonces single ladies
@musikmama, I suspect you've been seeing a lot of Design Within Reach's vertical bookshelf. It may look like a stack of books, but nope!
In any case, yes, this post is about "something for single people without kids" . . . as you can tell from the "single girl" and "ladies who live alone."
Ohhhh, I'm in love with the "fuck it."
'no holds bared' ?? a big Freudian don't you think! 'ladies' is an embarrassing term, people who use it appear naff, awkward and out of touch.
