I've seen plenty of house tours that have stacked books 5 feet high. Its one of those ideas that seem great until the first time it falls over, since its probably functioning as a "unique" stand for your fishbowl or antique flea market vase. But I guess maybe this is something for single people without kids?

Please stop with the 'ladies.' Please. We aren't living in the 1950s. And 'girls,' don't get me started. We're women, damn it!

I disagree. I have zero problem with "ladies" or "girls" just like I don't mind being included in "guys" or "y'all." It's an interior design website, we needn't be so formal.

1) I loved them all! There's something unique about a single person's home. They tend to flow more and sticking to the same style/theme throughout. They also seem more daring.

2) I don't have a problem with "girls" or "ladies". If "women" was the only word we used to describe someone with ladyparts it would get old, quickly.
Besides I like being 27 and still called a "girl". Just don't call me ma'am.

The "women" have done a wonderful job! I loved everything except for the expletive wall art, but that is just me.

I've been called so many worse things that woman, lady, ma'am, Ms., y'all, and Mrs. are all fine but, being 52, I contradict people who call me girl unless they're elderly. Guys is OK if there's at least one male present, otherwise it's somewhat offensive. It's a personal preference.

The colorful expletive wall art in an office or craft room? Sure, no problem. In an entry way? Not the first impression I want to make.

Don't have a problem with "ladies" at all, but goddammit, calling grown women "girls" has got to stop. Women are so often infantilized it's ridiculous.

I like this post. I enjoy seeing what people do with their pad when they don't have to compromise with the design.

Personally I am only mildly offended at the statement on the wall. Mostly I just find it dis-tasteful of A.T. to post it as the main photo.
