Saw this chair and liked it. DWR does continue to learn new tricks (but why are they so conservative with color?).
The Svedese Fortune Chair has a solid ash frame, is undoubtedly Danish in design origin, but has an interesting back story to it. The designers, the Fratelli Tominaga, actually copied a chair they found in the kitchen of a home in Udine, Italy. Apparently 40 years old and made in Italy, they were not able to discover the designer. It then became theirs (and totally Italian).
If we had the cash, we'd buy these in light ash and have the seats and backrests redone in a nice, warm brown leather. Available at DWR for $288 each.

or if you want that profile in a $35 chair . . .

One of my DWR swatches arrived today (avocado leather for the Lina leather folding chair) with a note that my other swatch (Natural Wood/Green Wool for the Svadese Fortune chair) is on back order.
Glad to see this post... I am not the only one who thinks this is a nifty chair!
Really love the Svedese chair, but not the price (since I would need 6 for my dining room table)... Guido, how funny. I was just at IKEA yesterday to check out that chair in person. But it's so new that they haven't assembled one for display yet. If I can sneak away at lunch, I'll check back. I'm sure it falls in the category of "you get what you pay for", but it sure does have a nice profile. And for $35? This seems like a great option for a student or just-out-of-school budget.
AT rocks!
I've been looking for dining room chairs to go with my Calligaris Duo table in wenge. I've come across plenty of parson style chairs displayed with the table, bu they really do not do it for me. And the other nice ones I see are over my $ 250/chair budget.
After I saw this post, I went to DWR and really liked the chair that I am going to spend the extra money to get them.
I'll place my order once I get the swatches.
Check out Fredericia furniture from Denmark. They have Mogensen and Wegner pieces available.
