The Outer Sunset of San Francisco is rapidly becoming known for its style, inspired and created by the surfers that frequent Ocean Beach. Woodshop, a partnership of four sign-painting, furniture-designing, surfboard-building friends, seems like a perfect fit for the neighborhood...
Leilani Marie Labong of A Ruffled Feather recently did an excellent feature on the workshop/shop for the San Francisco Chronicle. I loved her description of "the artisans' alchemy (an irresistible allure owed not just to their close-knit friendships or their love of surfing but also to their reverence for one another's art and expertise)", as well as the artisans' discussion of their cooperationg and "creative cross-pollination". It must be working because the photos of gorgeous salvaged-wood tables and cute birdhouses (especially the home of Madame Cuckoo, Psychic) made me want to hop on the N-Judah and take a ride out to the ocean, dreaming of Trouble Coffee, Outerlands' bread, and General Store loveliness the whole way there.

I love the accent rug!
the wall in the photo on the left would be awesome if it were cut out and these shelves divided two spaces. i'm completely obsessing on that idea now... the extra chairs would be easy to access from both rooms, you could add curtains and art for privacy...
Those guys are hot both in the water and in the Woodshop! Josh is amazingly talented. Can't wait to get my hands on some of his wood. I mean his wood furniture people!
