This holiday we want to thank you personally for being our readers all year. How? We're having a big dinner party for all of the Apartment Therapy and Kitchn staff tonight and we are going to film it and share a big, live thank you by everyone at once. Why? Because we love you, and because we want you to meet the staff and know what it looks like here at our work. We also thought it would be cool to try and answer any questions you have about our blogs in the video. So, if you have a really good question for ANYONE at Apartment Therapy or The Kitchn, please put it and who it might be directed to (if anyone specific) in the comments below and then we'll add it to our short film. And get ready to see our big Thank You Film next week!

Thank you, Apartment Therapy, for everything you are doing. From the moment I found you you became my most favourite site on the Internet.
I do have a question: I noticed that the order of articles changes throughout the day. I typically look at AT at lunch time (if I work through lunch) and then in the evening. However, in the evening, I when I scroll down and find a post I had seen earlier that day, it does not mean I there is nothing new past that point. I have always find it a bit puzzling and I would like to know the answer to "why?".
I am used to it so it does not bother me .... but I am curious.
Hey, ok I know this might sound incredibly lazy, but I wish you would just have the "afters" under the post instead having to click and scroll down. You are officially my favorite blog and I look forward to seeing all of the wonderful posts!! Keep up the good work & happy holidays!
Will the "Favorite Thing" series continue? I really loved the short pieces so far and look forward to more. Thank you for all your beautiful and thought-provoking work, AT.
Thank you, Apartment Therapy, and most especially Kitchn!!! My most-read site by far.
Also, FWIW, I have been guilty of snarky comments in the past but I am trying to turn over a new, positive leaf.
Also, what CanadianMango said about post order -- yeah, what's up with that?
Happy holidays and thank you for bringing so much interest and joy to me.
(Also thanks for the amazing giveaways which I am soooo hoping to win!)
Enjoy your party --- you deserve it!
bellabeeboo i agree about the 'before and afters"
Maxwell - if you could give any advice to young entrepreneurs, especially those interested in starting their own website, what would it be?
Why are there just re-runs and "wrap-ups" on the weekend? Surely you could find some (unpaid) interns or outside bloggers who have interesting things to share on the weekends.
I would love a way to enlarge the photos on your site. Thank you for all the inspiration and beauty!
Thank YOU apartment therapy! I am a loyal reader who's been following you for years. AT is the very first site I go to when I have any sort of apartment questions (noise control, hot pipes, cheap but cute curtain sources). Often times I find the tips in the comments section to be just as useful as the post. I don't have any specific questions, just a big thank you and please keep doing what you're doing!
To anyone to answer, do you all work regular hours or is it more like whenever you do you best work as long as you hit some kind of deadline. Just want to thank you all and wish everyone a very merry Ho! Ho! Holiday!
1) Why do the pictures of many house tours have so many close up shots of the 'things' people own, rather than the rooms themselves? It's not what we want to look at and I'm not the only one who has asked that question.
2) Why do you delete comments if they aren't in the majority? It just feels cheesey. I understand anything rude or snarky but if someone doesn't like a certain room and explains why, it's removed. Not everyoen will love the same thing.
Other than that, my favorite are the before and afters...even if I don't like the after I appreciate the work these folks put into them.
I would like to know what happened to The Cure. Why did it have to leave? It really changed the way I think about my house and the things within, and I'd love to see the full version come back. Thank you so much for all you do!
You know what might be cool? If you had little online shows, where you take someone's messy house and redo just a little part, like you (M G-R -- hey, should we call you MRo, or something silly? Do you feel in need of a nickname? There's a question!)(I have a feeling it will be "no." ; >) used to do on "Mission: Organization?" I loved those organizing voyeur shows, and they seem to have all died.
And I like that "Hoarder" show, but they go too fast. People take longer to change, plus, there are a lot of us -- haha, not me of course -- who are in a gray area. We aren't DSM level, but, could use some inspiration to throw stuff out. And for most people, I think incrementalism is the thing.
Like others, mostly I like it here a lot. So, please take the following as just my two cents. And it's mostly for your website person anyway.
LyonStill: ditto. I didn't know that AT did this, and it seems like a mistake. Someone can have insight even if I don't agree with their opinion. Please stop, if you do do this. If it's to please the people who let you post their homes, then maybe they need thicker skin? Or don't identify them at all, and then they won't be embarrassed? Or, some happy medium? I feel it's dishonest to hide legit comments from others and not tell me. See, now I'm just curious!
I also have trouble keeping up. And I didn't know that new stuff sometimes gets stuffed "in the back?" Well, I don't know the solution. At least your "search" function works well, but, that's only if I know what I'm looking for. Plus, it really would be nice to be able to keep track of where I stopped, and as of now, I don't know any way to do that. I don't have OCD, but sometimes I can feel it calling me, and, this sort of thing -- knowing that there's great content on here somewhere ... --- doesn't help.
I disagree with the unpaid intern idea, with ALL due respect. Please try to pay them, if they're not getting class credit! Spread it around, make things grow.
Ooh, here's a suggestion (though it could be my browser): how come when I sign in, I then land on some weird intro page, and then I have to shuffle my way back to where I was? It's kind of disruptive. (Nowadays I usually forget to sign out, but still.)
Happy Holidays to you, Apartment Therapy! I love it here. You all are one of the few blogs I follow daily!! So many great ideas and fun spaces.
I second luckygirl about being able to enlarge photos. I'm a weirdo when it comes to stuff in the background. I scour for little things and would love to be able to see some stuff more up close.
Oh and follow ups! This is more about people who send questions than you guys. I would love to see follow ups to "good questions" and such.
Before and afters are my favorite!
Why are the photos in the house tours so small? And why can't you just put the photos on the main "house tour" page like in every other post? Or at least, make it possible to enlarge the photos. If I'm going to "tour" someone's house, I want to really be able to see everything clearly. I often scroll through the main page and don't click on "enter house tour."
Can we take a peek into your homes?
First, thanks AT for offering so much interesting information and opportunities for debate and sharing.
I agree with others who ask about the House Tours - the way they are presented in that weird click thru menu is not intuitive/user friendly. I'd prefer to see it like a pinterest board.
I also would appreciate revisiting problems you may have addressed in the past - from bathroom layouts to best sofa/bed options for small spaces, it just seems like some topics call for repeated reviews.
And trends! Much as I tend to hate them (a byproduct of working in an industry that creates and perpetuates them), I do like to know what is out there and how people feel about them. Chevrons, owls, foxes, black bathrooms -- more please!
I am sure it has been asked and answered 1000+ times, but I haven't found the answer. What is that squiggle in your logo and how did it come about?
I thought the posts were put up randomly throughout the day and then reordered at day's end based upon popularity or another standard. Okay with me, I can always find what I'm looking for.
Merry Christmas to you AT and thanks for all the great posts on apartment design. I have learned so much this year from the posts and the comments about decor, design, cooking, etc. Don't change a thing!
On the subject of post order, I follow AT on Google Reader, so all the posts come through in order and stay until I read them. I am grateful to AT in general and for continuing your RSS feed!
Assuming the authors of articles go through and read the comments, how often do you have to fight the urge to respond to (especially) negative comments? I often see commentors posting grammatical corrections or berating the writer for covering a topic that was already covered recently. Really petty stuff. Are you instructed to not "fight back"? I wouldn't be able to help myself if it was me!
Sure, how does the 'Scavenger' work. Does the AT staff buy these items? Often the item seems to be nicely staged; not just a quick snapshot.
Just keep mixing it up. I love that you throw in the eclectic and unconventional!
