We've posted about jury rigging a tripod into a lamp before, but here's another source for inspiration for those of you who might have an extra unused tripod laying around. Tech accessory site Thanko is selling these $21 aluminum adapter plates that convert you laptop into a tripod compatible piece of equipment. If you go this route, can we recommend only using it with smaller laptops and netbooks and not your 18.4" practically-a-desktop, laptop?
