My 25 lb. cat loved to lounge on her cardboard cat scratcher. It was just her natural spot to hang out on. Her own scent, left by her scratching activity gave her a sense of ownership and comfort. Not that it was comfortable. It was flat and small (for her). She needed something larger that would also give her more comfort.

STUDIO TOUR

We work out of our Barn-Style Shop. It looks peaceful and relaxing on the outside but sometimes it get's pretty busy inside fulfilling orders and they come in.
This is where we complete the finishing touches of all the Scratch'n Slumber Comfort Loungers and prepare them for shipment to some very lucky cats.

Up the road is where we mill, kiln dry, plane and handcraft the different components of the Scratch'n Slumbers.
FAVORITE DESIGNER

Raymond Loewy - Credited with originating a design technique called streamlining, Loewy spent over 50 years streamlining everything from postage stamps to spacecrafts. Of his many famous creations - the Studebaker Avanti was renowned for it's toughness, strength and durability with the lines of their bodies displaying an air-curve symmetry.
Not unlike "The Ultimate Cat Scratcher Lounge" or commonly known as the Scratch'n Slumber® Comfort Lounge.
FAVORITE DESIGN

The Studebaker Avanti and the S1 Locomotive each designed by Raymond Loewy.
They are my favorite because the designs show a sleek, smooth, and streamline creativeness with a solid toughness, strength and durability to there appearance.

I love reading about new interesting concepts people come up with.
Love it!
The Brawny Cat Company and its products are what real craftsmanship is about. The dedication to every detail is what really impressed me (and my furry kids) with their products as well as their service! Go Brawny Cat!!!
This is wonderful, practical and beautiful hand made product!
Nothing about this design strikes me as particularly innovative. The concept is decent, but the execution seems banal and unimaginative. And I am not as impressed with the craftsmanship as everyone else is. This seems to be contrary to the general consensus, but the exposed hardware really bothers me. Why not join the sections with box joints or dovetails.
I imagine cats love this thing. But thats not really a adequate gauge for the success of this design, as they also love laser pointers and balls of twine.
I really believe that this design has no business being in this competition.
Adore this. Love the storage built-in and that it uses reclaimed wood.
Nice work!
I think this design is a great combination of practical, eco-friendly, aesthetically attractive, and most important - geared toward the user, a cat. It's wide enough to totally stretch out upon, and the materials create a surface completely attractive to the animal. Cats love plain cardboard boxes, too, but they not only look ugly in one's home, but have to be tossed within a week as they become shredded. Every cat should be so lucky as to have one.
Functional, and a work of art! I'd be proud to display this in my home, and I'd probably need several as I know that my cats, both large and small, would be instantly drawn it!
Love the design. My huge Maine Coon would certainly enjoy one of these; standard cat products are always much too small for him.
Living in a small space with lots of cats, my pet peeve (no pun intended) is stuff taking up my floor space. You can't vacuum under it and it is underfoot. While I love everything about this cat lounge, I'd also like to see a version on stilt legs and maybe converging with a wall or window as a support, freeing up the floor.
I am always looking for creative designs for my 2 cats. This looks like a wonderful piece with multiple uses. And most importantly the cats look comfortable on it, no matter what their size is. This would look cool in an apartment or house. Lately we buy more stuff for our cats than we do for ourselves!
What a lovely and cat friendly idea! I would so enjoy having one of these for my cats to scratch around in!
I agree with purrna2go's comment about making a version that would be a window seat. The kitty would never leave it! And, it would look classic and handsome as a window seat.
