There is just something about steampunk tech that makes us gush about it. Is it the combination of the aesthetic from times gone by with tech from today? Or do we just really like brass? Whatever the reason, there is no denying that this steampunk iPod case is a neat piece of work that is worth sharing.
The project began to take shape once he found the burl walnut card case which forms the foundation for his design. Other materials that were used in this case were also creatively sourced, like brass brackets found in a model railway store. The only tools he used for this project were basic hand tools, an electric drill and an inexpensive Dremel-like tool.

Umm...that brass does look nice. I like brass but in the past have found it to be hard to keep shiny and bright. Hope this one has 'that' special coating on it to protect it because it looks like it will have a lot of handling.
I think that Steampunk stuff like this is very creative, but personally there are few things I hate more than this type of stuff. Something about it screams "bizarre foreplay/bedroom role play / bondage play." It just weirds me out.
