It's hard to believe the Tripp Trapp chair has been around for four decades as it still feels thoroughly modern. The design has become a classic due both to its basic, yet elegant shape as well as its functionality. The Tripp Trapp is at home in any style of decor: from country farmhouses to chic penthouses.

Peter Opsvik conceived the idea for an adjustable chair that would grow with a child in 1972 when his 2-year-old son outgrew his high chair and he wondered: what next? The chair he designed was unveiled to the world that year at the Sjølyst Exhibition, but only three were sold.

Marketed as "ergonomically correct", it was marketed to children as well as adults and was advertised as "striking a blow for Norwegian backs". Over the next 40 years, 8 million were sold to families around the world. It was recently included in MoMA's exhibit Century of the Child: Growing by Design.

Today, the Tripp Trapp is available in a rainbow of colors:

Sprout Side Table
Indeed! This chair proudly sits at our table. This chair was gifted to my daughter when she was 3 and she loves sitting in it now at 9 as much as she did when she was 3! I love this chair.
This is off-topic, I know, but I really enjoy the bench and hanging cushions in frame 14.
My favorite high chair EVER!
We love ours.
Ya know, it is a great kid chair. Didn't use it for a baby, but for a kid - it really is great. Comfort = better eating = better everything. Amen.
Love it so much that we have 3. It didn't seem right to kick our 4-year-old out of hers when she eats better and more neatly when she sits in it.
My 2 year old loves it. in another 6-9 months I think she'll be ready to (safely) climb in and out herself. We started her in the chair at 6 months and so long as the baby can sit well, I think the baby set, cushion etc are not needed...jest extra stuff to clean. And really, the ease of cleaning is one the best bonus feature of this chair. We also love the "Play Tray" addition...because she really does like to play with kitchen items in her chair while we cook or work in the kitchen (as opposed to using the chair for eating at the dining room table).
