The TwelveSouth BookBook for iPad

We remember the BookBook for the MacBook as being of our favourite laptop case solutions. Or as an Unplggd reader put it, "It's like putting your Playboy in a National Geographic." Well now you can do the same for you iPad.

The TwelveSouth BookBook for iPad is basically the same idea as the MacBook version; sheathed in bound leather, the handmade cases can also fold backwards to form a "V" stand, allowing users to prop up their iPad when they just want to view/use it on a surface. We'd definitely throw it in there in our top 10 of fav iPad cases on looks alone.

Available in black or red for $69.99, the only improvement we'd like to see in the second edition "printing" is the option to customize the title on the spine and front cover (and maybe a "This Book Belongs To..." plate inside).

But if the BookBook version is out of your price range, you've got a spare book of the right size, and you've got the skills and motivation for some DIY action, there's also a homemade version project as previewed below. At just $10 in cost, you can turn a yard sale find into a newly personalized way to protect your Apple iPad:
