There's a plenty to admire and be inspired by within the walls of this Hollywood Hills home's tasteful interior: the neutral/natural colour palette, the Parsons-style end tables, the antique Florence Knoll desk, a Blackman Cruz Mantis chair, and a cozy corner library situated by a 3-sided fireplace that seems to beckon us. But it was sight of an architectural feature of an all glass floor view of the stream that runs below that blew our mind…
The glass floor mirrors the skylights above, giving the LA-based Kovac Architects designed home the appeal of a modernist tree house. But when you've got a scenic view, you'd be a fool not to take advantage of it, and the Streamhouse does an able job of affording its occupants views from above, below and across we could only imagine brings them great joy (and light) each day. All we know now is we have an architectural dream feature to one day to aspire to have within our own home!

Gorgeous, but surely the glass floor panel's not appropriate to be walked upon, or have those nearby chairs dragged across?
Presumably it's strong enough to withstand the weight, but wouldn't it become terribly scratched?
Assuming that standing or walking on this surface is a no-no, I find it a bad design, despite the initial "that's cool!" factor. If it's only a window, and not intended to be used as genuine "floor", it should be designed that way-- cordoned off in some manner.
(If it's a high-tech material impervious to damage, then I withdraw the above comment and would instead only submit-- that's cool!)
This is another great example of an amazing house (great architecture, layout, bones and built-ins) with an interior with no inspiration whatsoever.

The last comment that I wrote was about dropping names and pedegries of furnishings. And about dogmas and creating political statements instead of living spaces. This home is pleasant and livable, but it also looks like a declaration of income.
I love the windows and glass floor panel. And the choice of wood flooring. I saved a couple of images for my "inspiration" folder. I don't know why people feel the need to comment on the 'lack of inspiration' or pretentiousness in someone's choice of decor. It's obvious that they are partial to this style. THIS style is to them as whatever your style is to you and my style is to me. Why don't people get that?

I love this style, clean and modern and I would just be right at home in it. Love the glass floor, so incredible, bold and letting in the nature. I would be one of those people to live in a glass house quite comfortably.
Oh, my office has the same EXACT chairs, even color, in our conference room as shown here around the dining table. My boss has great taste in decor too. :)
The more important question is: glass floor, why not (get the closest idea to walking on air)?
Is there a real stream down there? It looks "constructed".
The trend around here is to daylight and rehab streams; I wouldn't think much of the idea of building a "Fallingwater" house over a creek. The Corps of Engineers may care, but probably not in the land of the L.A. River.
Glass floors? Sure - how about a light tube going into the box and making it a big terrarium?
