When opportunity knocks, and it's Kelly Wearstler, you better damn well answer that door. Sometimes you don't have to go all that far away to "get away", and when you're invited to stay over gratis beachside, well ... there's not much to complain about, especially when your accommodations are at the Wearstler designed, Hollywood regency appointed Viceroy Hotel. Here are a few interior photos from our stay at the iconic Santa Monica hotel a few years back when we were fish-out-of-water guests at a most posh of holiday parties.

This is actually where the ATLA team had their first official meeting with Maxwell over a year ago. So even if you can't afford to stay overnight (like ourselves), we'd recommend you make reservations for some supper and fine spirits and enjoy the atmosphere.

Looks like a print ad for the hotel.
Are you sure you guys aren't in some upcoming brochure for the Viceroy Santa Monica?

In the first image, what is in those white frames??
Jess2nola, they're mirrors, either authentic or "antiqued" to have the smoky, scratched up effect.
Jess2nola: as RJD noted, they're antiqued mirrors. You can see a closer detail here.
