The Writing Wood On The Walls

Putting wood on the walls definitely isn't anything new but it's a trend that's popping up everywhere! Wood walls are no longer associated with bad remodels from the '70's or mountain cabins — chic and modern homes are sporting this rustic look and we're right on board with it.

Use wide plank reclaimed wood for a rustic cabin feel — paint it a fun color to really make things interesting. If you've recently re-done the floors in your home and find yourself with some extras, throw them up on a small wall leading up the staircase or inside your pantry, you'll be surprised at how great it turns out.

If you're not quite ready to cover an entire wall with wood, start small with a door made from wood panels. It'll add a touch of interest and who knows, you might like it enough to work your way into the big leagues. One of the surprising things about wood on the wall is that it doesn't have to match the wood on the floors. Play with different widths and colors and you'll probably get an even better result.

What do you think of wood on the walls?
