Putting wood on the walls definitely isn't anything new but it's a trend that's popping up everywhere! Wood walls are no longer associated with bad remodels from the '70's or mountain cabins — chic and modern homes are sporting this rustic look and we're right on board with it.
Use wide plank reclaimed wood for a rustic cabin feel — paint it a fun color to really make things interesting. If you've recently re-done the floors in your home and find yourself with some extras, throw them up on a small wall leading up the staircase or inside your pantry, you'll be surprised at how great it turns out.
If you're not quite ready to cover an entire wall with wood, start small with a door made from wood panels. It'll add a touch of interest and who knows, you might like it enough to work your way into the big leagues. One of the surprising things about wood on the wall is that it doesn't have to match the wood on the floors. Play with different widths and colors and you'll probably get an even better result.
What do you think of wood on the walls?

I've been in love with this look ever since Katie Bower used it in her son's nursery and Kara Paslay used it in her guest bedroom! I've really been considering doing something like this in my house, just have to decide where.
Although I like it in photos (when done well, as all of these are), I'm happy and relieved that we pried every last bit of rough cedar from the walls of our little house. Who knows how long it had been up there?! It smelled (and not like cedar)!!

YES! This can cover up wallpaper and god awful textured ceilings! But I think it can be tricky to pull off. Traditional wainscoting might be a safer choice for many standard homes.
No.
My kitchen has wood panelling. It's like living in a sauna. Sorry, it's gotta go!
check out the lettered cottage blog...they use the wood-on-the-wall look for lots of their rooms. amazing!!
I like modern wood wall panels to add interest and warmth to my highrise condo in Miami. I bought online from a company called Dayoris. http://www.dayorisgroup.com
They made me 2' x 4' woodgrain wall panels. They have many designer colors and they don't charge to ship.
