The Written Word is a locally-owned and operated shop in Logan Circle (14th and P Streets). Previously in Dupont Circle, the store has been selling stationary in the DC for over 30 overs. I agree! DC people should definitely check it out. Very friendly service. (And Rachael -- check your stationery vs. stationary use. :-) )

I just love all things wordy - pretty papers - notes - pens - ooh...I could spend some money here if I had some. Meanwhile, its nice to browse on line from far away.

I will never shop here again...staff was extremely discourteous. I had the temerity to ask that a purchase be wrapped in a manner similar to the way they had done it previously and the woman purporting to be the manager opened up a can of rude that was breathtaking.

Save your money and self-respect...shop elsewhere.

(given the number of poor ratings they've rec'd on Yelp.com, poor customer service appears to be their hallmark)

They've actually closed or relocated, but they're no longer on P St anymore...
