Wow, November already. Soon December will fly by and we'll be in 2015, a brand new year with a brand new opportunity to be our boldest, most daring, decorative selves in our home. But don't give up on being gutsy in decor just yet; we've got five design details that are easy enough you could still add them to your home to wow this year!

1. Pretty easy: Give your entire living room a facelift with a set of colorful, patterned and bold pillows you buy or DIY.

Heck, you can even go shopping around your house to make a mix of pillows for your sofa. No matter what the rest of your living room looks like, you can wow with a whole new set of pillows, and you can control how easy this daring detail is by the type of DIY throw pillow projects you choose (they even have some projects that just involve tying a scarf to a pillow for a new look) or how many places you buy from. 2. Pretty easy: Use some leftover paint to add a messy splash of solid color to a wall or piece of furniture.

No taping off required (though maybe laying down a tarp to protect the floor would be wise) and you can paint as big of an area as you want. The messy edges will look stylish and you won't have to spend hours taping off lines. Room spotted on Sfgirlbybay.

3. Pretty easy: Add pattern to a ceiling

The key here is to pick the right location, the easiest application and a simple-to-do pattern. So pick a super small area like a powder room, hallway or entryway. And pick a no-mess, no-painting required pattern application method like temporary wallpaper, vinyl stickers or even contact paper. Just peel and stick your way to a daring design detail that will fool people into thinking it took you hours to complete. Room found on HGTV.

4. Super easy: Hang a rug for an instant oversize, eye-catching art piece

It could be a rug you've been using for years and want to now use in a fresh way, it could be an affordable rug you've found at a vintage store or it could even be a rug you make, but all you have to do is hang it, and you'll have a daring design detail that adds a huge area of color and pattern to a room. Idea seen in Ferm Living.

5. Super easy: Frame and hang a saucy/silly saying

Art that features bright colors and perky patterns is certainly eye-catching, but so is a few witty phrases printed out on a sheet of paper and hung on a wall in a frame. You can find a piece of art with a phrase you like and purchase, or you could type up and print your own gutsy, meaningful saying. If you do decide to DIY this idea, be sure to stick to a simple layouts, contrasting colors and modern typefaces; it'll read and look better.
