Shown above, left to right:
1. A set of nautical flags very simply hung in the living room adds a graphic punch of color to South Aftrican home featured in K & R's Seaside Style.
2. A series of simple greyscale drawings turns into a design statement through the power of repetition in David's Blogger Brownstone. To make a large group of frames like this wallet friendly, these were purchased at IKEA.
3. This 3d wall piece is a simple DIY — decorative branches (from West Elm) were painted and then artfully arranged over the bed in James' Treehouse Bedroom for an unusual yet naturalistic touch.
4. A trip to the art supply store plus a little artistic chutzpah and Arthur got a large painting for the dining room of his loft, featured in this Close Up of Arthur's Long Distance Home . He made the drip style painting himself on a large unframed canvas with a simple color palette.
5. A nice "floating" framing job in Michaels Design District home turns a simple everyday object, in this case, a map, into something special.

The artwork in number four amazes me - mostly because I can think of many children who could do the same thing in less than five minutes.
I don't think this post is worth writing. If people really want to hang a flag, then perhaps talk about how to hang it, or a back ground color to accent the wall. But really....some juice to the article is worth reading, not just hanging a flag. True it's graphic. But so is a traffic sign.
Actually a traffic sign is more interesting than any of the above photos. How about a man who collects traffic signs...yeah! I don't mean to be insulting, I just think that if you are going to post something, then maybe something more interesting in a photo or an arrangement. Now shoot me....it's ok.
AT is as much about the funny comments as it is about the style posts! Thanks, readers for giving me a chuckle :)
I love decorating with old maps. I use them for wall art, to cover storage boxes, even my office trash bin is covered with map wrapping paper.
Yul - You would be surprised to know I'm in my 20's. I've seen modern atwork...just don't feel like droplets of paint on a canvas constitute as art. I've done that to my carpet painting before - guess I should frame it and sell it.
This post is simply short one single statement: "in the blogosphere anything that is presented as art, is indeed art. Anything presented as 'of note' instantantly is"
Faced with daily or hourly deadlines bloggers are presented with the choice of producing no content or bad content.... most choose the later.
@ChrisGal -- you probably could, you know.
Stop knocking the guys! It's so good to know there are guys out there much evolved from just leaving their stinking socks & underwear all over the place. Or "decorating" with beer cans and dogs playing poker!!
Kudos to the guys!
Love the comment wars
