The desk above looks like a myriad of other basic home offices cobbled together. But despite its utilitarian setup, this desk is a little different from others, due to a feature not yet apparent in this first photo, but visible below...
DIYer and Reddit contibutor, otherwiseguy, realized he was prone to sit hours on end writing software code. Upon reading about treadmill desks similar to the MultiTable ModTable Standing Desk with Treadmill System, he knew he could piece together something himself using "an old treadmill, a Costco folding table, and some PVC pipe."
We wouldn't call it a beautiful solution, but the idea and execution is admirably affordable, and probably a good way to test whether a standing desk is desirable before investing in a more permanent and costlier setup. Just note, it's a good idea to place your computer on the ground...just in case of accidental faceplants!

Love it! I really want one of these desks and hope they become the norm for offices everywhere...we can dream!
I would love to have a desk that converts from sitting to standing. I don't like doing either one for long periods of time. I've seen a couple of them, but I'm holding out for one that's aesthetically pleasing.
