Hotels are just so... typical, you know? Lobbies, ice machines, an obvious lack of aluminum. Instead of rooms off a hallway, Australia's Notel offers you actual Airstream trailers on the roof of a parking garage.

Located in Melbourne, Notel grew out of the desire to utilize the roof space of a car park. The vintage trailers gut renovated by Edwards Moore Architects, FMSA Architecture, and artist Ash Keating, who also painted the installation on the surrounding brick.

Since it's a parking garage, there's no human to check you in; the process is done (and you unlock your trailer) via app.

While there's no onsite gym or room service, there's an iPad with Netflix and a Melbourne city guide, a pink shower, and mini bar stocked with local craft beers, snacks, and water.

One Airstream comes with its own outdoor hot tub.

Rates start at $395 AUS.
