The charming little home of Finnish blogger Adalmina had a problem common to lots of small apartments: not nearly enough closet space. So she took advantage of her apartment's high ceilings to implement a clever solution.
Adalmina turned a sleeping nook in her small apartment into a walk-in closet, and built a lofted sleeping space above. Now she has the kind of closet that people in much larger homes can only dream of — and a cozy lofted bedroom to boot. White curtains slide closed to hide the closet from view when not in use.
It's a solution that pretty much any fashion-obsessed small space denizen could implement at home, using either a custom-built loft or a loft bed from a retailer like IKEA. (Interior decorator Robin Sillau did something similar in her small bedroom, which you can see here.)
In the rest of the apartment, an all-white palette has a calming effect, and helps the space feel much larger than it is. It helps that there's a distinct lack of clutter — another advantage of having a giant closet. A little bit of texture and a few black accents keep things interesting.
