If your idea of houseboats begins and ends with Sleepless in Seattle, here's something a little different. This modern cantilevered home flips the floor plan.

Designed by Vandeventer + Carlander Architects, this two-bedroom floating home flips the often-standard floor plan, with the living areas on the second floor for additional light and better views.

That puts the bedrooms at "float level," with each of the ensuite spaces just a few steps from a morning swim.

There are also two terraces and a roof deck off of the main living area.
