Oh the design dilemma that is technology. Cell phones, tablets — all these devices make our lives easier in many ways. But they also intrude on our lives. Always there. Always buzzing. And don't forget about all the wires! This weekend, take the time to find a designated spot in your home where your technology gets its juice — and where you get a break from always being online!
This Weekend's Assignment:
Carve out a place in your home that can be a designated charging spot for your most used technology
It's more than just finding a convenient spot that you can charge your technology at without the wires getting out of control (although that is an important element to address), it's about finding a place in your home you can stick your technology in so it's not always with you. It's about giving your technology a permanent spot to stay in so you can be more present as you live life in the rest of your home. (And it is about making a spot a little more attractive so there aren't wires and chargers hanging everywhere.)
More charging station inspiration:
You can quite literally just choose a convenient spot in your home near an electrical outlet, plug your chargers in, do a little wire management and set your tech there when you need to charge your batteries and get a tech break (no power tools required).
Or you can get handy and create a DIY charging station that hides your tech (and its wires) out of sight while creating a nice organized spot for you. We highly recommend this one:
