Walking the galleries of your nearest art museum is a great way to sneak in some extra steps and soak up some culture. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is going one step further and actually offering workout classes as part of a performance art piece.

The classes—which take place in the morning before the museum opens to the public—are a collaboration between contemporary dance company Monica Bill Barnes & Company, and writer/illustrator Maira Kalman. Kalman provides the route through the galleries and the soundtrack of disco and Motown mixed with narration, while choreographer Barnes and partner Anna Bass lead attendees in "constant movement, exercises, and light stretching."

Museum Workout starts at 8:30 am on Thursdays through Sundays until February 12.
