I recently purchased a new business card storage box for my desk, but after hearing from readers, I realized I was missing out on something much slicker: free business card scanning apps.

Here are three free apps that can help you translate all your cards into digital contacts:

Three Apps for Digitizing Business Card ContactsCamCard: If you are worried about losing contacts, CamCard is a smart choice because it syncs all new contacts with the Cloud, so as you change devices you can get your contacts back. It also supports 12 languages. This app has both a free and a paid version and is available on Apple, Android and Blackberry.

Three Apps for Digitizing Business Card ContactsCard Munch: This app is powered by LinkedIn, which is great because after you scan a business card, it finds the contact on LinkedIn so you can connect that way too. It's currently only available on iPhone, but an Android version shouldn't be far behind.

Three Apps for Digitizing Business Card ContactsYolu Card: If you have contacts in many countries, this multilingual app is your best bet. There's also a really cool mapping feature that allows you to see your contacts based on their location. It's available for Apple, Android and Windows phones.
