We don't know why they call themselves "Three Fingers," but we do know that this trio of female painters comes highly recommended as "professionals" at a "good price."
Based in Brooklyn, they take jobs all over the city and happen to have a number of openings right now, so give them a call if you want to paint your walls periwinkle before New Year's. They can also be reached at 3fingerspainting@nyc.rr.com. (Thanks, Daniel!)

Sorry to have to be the dissenter, but my experience with this operation was not great. Two weeks ago, after having had a very pleasant conversation with Raechel, she told me to put together an email describing the job in detail so that she could give me an estimate. I did so, and I also sent her the floorplan which I thought would be helpful.
After not getting a response for three days, I left a message on her voicemail. So, here we are two weeks later, and I've yet to get the courtesy of a response. There you have it. That's my experience with 3 Fingers Painting.
The first time Daniel contacted me was on April 18th. He was looking to have his paint job after he closed on the apartment June 1st. Since there would be limited access until ownership was transferred, I asked him to email me a detailed description and a floorplan in order to put together a rough estimate.
I didn't receive an email from Daniel until about a month later on May 15th, followed by a phone call three days later. Seems that when I had more time to accommodate his request, Daniel didn't have time to send me an email for over 3 weeks.
As the months get warmer, we get busier. With several big deadlines during the last two weeks, I hadn't had time to put together a rough number and so hadn't returned his call. I know that some people need more re-assurance and attention and while we do, on a rare occassion, lose an email or phone call in the shuffle, we do our very best to cater to the needs of clients and potential clients alike.
Now that I see Daniel's comment about his limited experience with me, I'm quite content to have left him alone with his impatience.
We sincerely wish Daniel the best of luck with his project and settling into his new home.
I too had an unpleasant experience with this operation, had it not been for my fortitude and grace, things may well have gotten "ugly". That being said , the particulars in this matter are of such a nature that perhaps this forum isn't the best place to air such a grievance , the fact is, there are no victims - just volunteers! If you're looking for "Professionalism" . . . . . . . . well, it'd probably be better to hire professionals, on the other hand, if you're a gambling sort of bloke, well then , lady luck just might shine on you. In the Islands , if you steal they cut off your hand, in these parts though, they may just cut off two of your fingers, leaving you with three fingers :/
Wow, that is some very selective thinking on Raechel's part in the post above. The fact is that anyone in any field (be it an attorney, real estate broker or a painter) who is good at what they do, is busy these days. Raechel is not unique in this regard. I wrote her a long and detailed email at HER request. It deserved to be acknowledged, at the very least. No one in a service business is ever “too busy†to shoot a quick email to a potential customer at the end of the day (interesting though how she did make time in her busy schedule to post the long response above). That’s basic professional courtesy 101.
Raechel's unfortunate and convenient mischaracterization of me as “impatient†(I'm not sure how waiting for two weeks qualifies as being impatient, but whatever) is nothing more than an attempt to obscure the central issue here which is that she was non-responsive. End of story. A simple apology would have been a more appropriate and professional response in this case.
In my experience 3 Fingers Painting were incredible. I met with several people and received a number of bids. Raechel and Sope were by far the most professional, trustworthy and reasonably priced. They are all around GOOD people who are very talented and did a hands down outstanding job with my place. I'd recommend them endlessly.
I am a professional interior designer, and run my own Holistic Design business. My philosophy is to work with like-minded people who share a similair approach to running a business with integrity and professionalism. 3FingersPainting has met this criteria plus some. Their work speaks for itself (pictures of the projects they have done for me will be posted on my website shortly so you can see for yourself at sleewright.com). They continually rise to the challenges that I present to them and never have been unable to meet my creative needs. There professional documentation also makes my job easier and all of my clients have had smiles from the experience of working with them. I highly recommend 3FingersPainting.

We used 3 Fingers to repair walls and paint a room in our apartment which was in sad shape--lots of cracks, holes from electrical work and water damage. Not to mention shoddy workmanship by a previous contractor which needed undoing. My husband, who spent much time painting and repairing the rest of the apartment, has meticulously high standards as he spent time as a painter some years back. The transaction from start to finish was the most pleasant I've ever had with a contractor. Great communication by phone and email, very attentive to every major and minor issue I mentioned, they began and finished on schedule and the workmanship and execution was extremely high. The work involved a lot of plastering and as I'm very pregnant, it was a concern that our home maintain some semblance of cleanliness. The "mess" was confined to the room where the work was being done and the final clean-up was very thorough--we didn't have to do a thing. My husband and I are both very pleased and would use their services again in a heartbeat.
3 Fingers painted our entire apartment this past spring and we have been telling all our friends and colleagues about the wonderful work they did. They are as professional and courteous as they are skilled - - and by that I mean they function at a high level on all fronts. We were more than pleased with their work. They were quick to respond to any changes/modifications that came up during the process and were able to work under less than ideal circumstances when they had to share the workspace with a contractor/subcontractors that were not as fastidious about cleaning up as they were. We recommend them highly.
3 fingers took about a week to paint my apartment and did a wonderful job. I wanted a perfectionist paintjob that would remedy the sins of drywallers past. I also wanted a painter who would protect my apartment and its belongings during the process, since everything was pretty much staying in the place during the job. 3 Fingers was the right choice.
Raechel, Sope and their crew are a pleasure to deal with, got along with my co-op, and do wonderful work. They also moved every item of movable furniture in my apartment, covered it carefully, and at the end of the odyssey put it all back in the right place. They pulled up all the exposed wire, painted under it, and put it back-- and all the hookups functioned!
The plastering and patching made the sheetrock look like plaster. 3 Fingers is on speed dial for the next time I paint a ceiling blue. They are reliable, responsible, dependable, and easy to deal with. Not cheap, but in this case you get what you pay for and I recommend them to all my friends.

Many thanks for your support.
The 3 Fingers Ladies are incredible! I bought an apartment in a 1926 Candela building and the walls showed their age - Sope and Raechel were artisans who took incredible care to restore the walls and their attention to detail was beyond wildest expectation. The building super was amazed when he saw the results, and I would recommend them without reservation. DP

These ladies are AWESOME! They were excellent to work with from initial contact. They took on the task of painting a huge amount of woodwork in my new apt. I'm talking SERIOUS woodwork all over the apt including wainscoting, built-in bookcases, built-in armwoires, etc. I was somewhat nervous about losing the distinct details in this beautiful woodwork, and many people told me I was nuts to even think about painting over it. That being said, I was not about to live in a dark wood paneled home. It just felt oppresive and overwhelmingly dark. 3 Fingers came to the rescue! Not only did they do a wonderul job painting all the walls and woodwork, but they managed to maintain all of the beautiful details within the wainscoting, etc. I am so thrilled with the outcome. Not to mention the fact that they posted photos on twitter as they worked, so I was able to track their progress without having to physically go down to the unit.
They are by far, the cleanest contractors I have ever worked with (and I've hired more than a few between 2 apt renovations over the last 6 years). I cannot recommend them enough!!!
