Though it's not exactly gelato season, we've held on to these cute little plastic gelato cups from the now long-distant and longed-for summer. Since we kept them we might as well use 'em, and we loved this window-sill seedling idea (see the two others after the jump).

We find the bright colors and offbeat shape a far better business card holder than the cheap-o flat things we could pick up at Office Depot. We don't keep a bunch of paper clips or tacs hanging around our desk (I know, we're weird), but if we did, a little row of office supplies would make a nice tableau.

And for you crafty types, the containers make a cute frame for a DIY pincushion. Girl on the Rocks takes us step-by-step for making this one (pictured above) that she crafted for the Pincushion Challenge Flickr group and blog.

Very cute! :)
It's always gelato season!
The same cups offered at my local Gelato Vero in San Diego are made from compostable corn, but I like to keep them around to use in the kitchen for single-serving dips and sauces.
