With birthday parties becoming more photogenic lately, it appears common that every household has 10 cake plates to serve things on and a small fortune to spend on the big day. Check out this super hero birthday bash that feels over the top, but contains several thrifty tips!

This party for 3 year old Pierson featured over at Hostess With The Mostess is simply out of sight. It's done up in a pretty sweet pop art and super hero style, most of which can be accomplished on a small budget.

Since we learned you can make giant black and white print outs on the cheap, the backdrops for the day would have been easy to accomplish and things like popcorn and Jello were served with the traditional cupcakes and cakes that were served.

What we love the most is the cityscape backdrop on the dessert table that's created from boxes. No fancy glass display pieces, just boxes covered in paper! How simple is that? Check out all the details of this fun day over at Hostess With The Mostess.
