It's not just the design of the products at Thrive Home Furnishings that are a throwback to the 1950s. So is the fact that all of the company's furniture is designed and manufactured in the United States — Los Angeles to be exact…
The furniture produced by Thrive definitely gives a nod to the mid-century American design. With sleek lines and classic styling, you'd be forgiven for thinking these pieces are vintage — or at least that they absconded from the set of Mad Men. Classic sofas, armchairs and tables are directly influenced by mid-century designers — often with names to match (such as the Kennedy Rocking Chair shown above). From the company's website:
Thrive Home Furnishings is bringing eclectic mid century modern 50's style furniture back to the mainstream. Drawing inspiration from classic designers such as Florence Knoll, Thrive is on the forefront of Mid Century Modern designed furniture all produced in Thrive's state of the art Los Angeles factory.
In addition to producing their products domestically, which is an earth friendly measure in and of itself, Thrive prides itself on its other green credentials. Thrive's eco-friendly manufacturing process includes "ensuring the responsible harvesting of the wood used" in their furniture.

Ordered a couch in late February, its now late March and being told I won't get it until late April. Will keep you all updated but as of right now...buyer beware!
I have to second this. I ordered in early February (website states items ship in 3-4 weeks), and after much frustration (customer service is disorganized-- ie. spoke with a woman for 15 minutes before realizing she wasn't even looking at the correct order), and conflicting information, got a call stating it was finally shipping (end of April) and--the kicker--shipping is threshold. They do not bring the sofa into your home. In all my years, I've never heard of a company with a speciality not delivering into the home. This information ONLY provided an hour before shipping (they had 11 weeks to give me this information). I hope the sofa is great, but honestly, save yourself the frustration.
Follow-up. Got my sofa today. It's amazing, perfect, wonderful; I absolutely love it. So comfortable and seems super well-built.
HOWEVER, they have a long way to go with production/customer service.
Follow up: After two months I finally got my couch after lots of emails with the company. It got to the point that they had to discuss my order to the production team to get the job done. After all of this I must say I love the couch, superb quality and craftsmanship. The fed-ex delivery guy was nice enough to bring it inside my place but I could see he was just being very nice.
I ordered a chair in Feb, and we are now at about 13 weeks since i ordered. Three times they gave me a date it would ship, and it has not. It's possible that now they have too much business to handle. if you've ever done any kind of custom building on a schedule, you know that you can give someone a finish date within a week or so, maybe less. It's either on the "bench" or it's not. This company has to be so unorganized and without any kind of custom building experience. There's no two ways about it.
