Happy Summer Solstice everyone! Summer is officially here, and it's time to relax and celebrate. Do you have Solstice weekend plans? If not, it's not too late to throw together a little impromptu gathering. Follow me...
The Summer Solstice is a celebration of love and renewal. With a few friends, some quick decorations, a good outdoor spot, and enticing bites and refreshments you'll be on your way to a weekend to remember.
Decor: Fire, fire, fire, that is the element for solstice. The colors of this day are red, orange, yellow, and gold. Keep this color scheme in mind for decorating, utensils and even refreshments. Try using mason jars to hold flowers, desserts, lights, etc.
Lighting: You could grab a few string lights and dangle them from trees or above the party center. You could also make some quick DIY lanterns and garland. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Activities: You will want to include some sort of fire element in your party. It can be as simple as having candles around, or as big as building a bonfire. One activity often done at the Summer Solstice is to write either what you truly want or what you want to get rid of on a piece of paper and throw it into the fire. It's also tradition to stay up and watch the sunrise, as well as make a Maypole. You can also gather supplies from your backyard and make flower crowns and gather around to sing the Solstice Song.
Refreshments: How about great fruity cocktail, like this Sparkling Watermelon Sangria, and a perfect metal dispenser to house it, like this one from West Elm.
