We are doing a renovation in our offices this fall and these would look great in mine. Especially as I work for a school of technology and design!
These look interesting...I'd like to experiment with them.
The command sign was actually chosen by Susan Kare while flipping through a symbols dictionary--it's a Swedish campground symbol! Anyway, my favorite is definitely command C/V.
Command-Tab for when I'm at work and need to suddenly look busy.
oh man, these are awesome! yeppers, i'm a C/V/N/S lover!
ctrl-t new tabs in firefox are my addiction
Hopefully this counts as one submission...
At work, where I use Windows, [Win]-R; typing it brings up the 'Run' dialog box where I can quickly launch a program (winword, excel), browse a drive (c:\), and quickly scroll down the previously used commands for fast access.
At home, where I'm all Mac, [Command]-[Backspace] so I can erase my words quickly while I blog or email.
command z
i don't even know how many times a day i use it. Without it, i would never get very far, i love trying everything and the kitchen sink while i design, but i know i can always go back.
apple-period to stop a mistake
command - v to paste
gkstratos@ yahoo.com
control option apple eject = shuts down my imac in one fail swoop so i can get out of the apartment and enjoy the summer the way it should be... outdoors!
'ctrl' 'space bar' which, for me, opens my quicksilver launcher.
command c. always with the copy paste over here. but the copy part is most important!
We're redoing our home office this fall. These would be a lovely addition to our walls. Esp. for a web designer (me) and programmer (hubby). lol ;-)
apple-H When I'm at work and need to hide what I shouldn't be doing, and look like I'm doing what i should be. :)
Apple S. Yes, I know that seems obvious, but I'm a full time grad-student and always fear I will close my document accidently without saving it and lose my most recent work. I hit this button hundreds of times a day.
Ctl-Z. I wish I that worked in real life.
ctl-x saves my day at work.
command R (Refresh), essential to confirm I've done things properly at work!
Alt Ctrl Z ... because I often make several mistakes in a row before I realize somethings wrong.
Ditto to phi on the tangible manifestation of this command.
ctrl C and ctrl V are my most used commands when moving data through spreadsheets and documents
I can't live without ctrl-c & ctrl-v. Cut-and-paste. How else would I get so much "original" work done?
Apple - Shift - Left or Right arrow keys in Safari, to quickly shuttle between tabs. Fantastic when researching.
ctrl-z - I'm into excel so much during the day without this I would cry. When I am blogging it comes in amazingly handy when I get too crazy using ctrl- backspace!
As a bonus it would look great next to my new Ctrl Z poster from threadless.
http://www.threadless.com/print/1347/Ctrl_Z_Print
Ctrl-z for all my oopsies and boo-boos!
at work:
windows L before walking away from my desk. keep away prying eyes ... not that i'm doing anything wrong or anything =x
at home:
ctrl T for my endless daily reads [ or command T if i can sneak on to the boy's mac ... still learning the keyboard shortcuts for it =D ]
Control Z all the way! i'd be half as productive without it.
Josh Smith -- I LOVED that t shirt! Totally just ordered the poster. =) I'm so glad they made it!
ctrl v
Command-S. Save, save, save! Get in the habit of hitting that combo every couple of minutes and you won't cry when illustrator/photoshop crap out on ya.
ctrl c ctrl v
ctrl-c and its counterpart ctrl-v. I use these all the time at work to move data from worksheets to enterprise applications. Without these, I'd have carpal tunnel from all the data entry I would need to do.
alt tab. I switch between the code I'm writing and the front end of the final program all day. And occasionally flip away from AT when my boss comes by.
command-tab and command-w is what I use most oftently
Alt-Tab is where its at.
i'm studying for the bar, so "option j" and "option p" for â and Ï.
I'm loving the W key command in InDesign right now; I use it a lot in design school to hide the pasteboard and guides of the book I am designing.
control-c all the way....
command return to open up new tabs
I can't be the only one who walks around the house looking for things and mumbling "cmd F cmd F cmd F" under my breath.
Controll-Q at the end of the day is the best.
i use alt-tab all the time to switch from one window to another
command z, it saves me a lot of time!
Control-N...it's always great to start fresh. Speaking of fresh, I love Atmostheory's fresh, new prints.
Control z... simple...but wonderful
I love command-s. I save everything! I would love to win these prints. Thanks so much!
apple c and apple v for copy and paste
"apple z" because I pretty much screw up all the time and am just generally not good at things.
Please.
ctrl-v = paste. What a time-saver, in combination w/ ctrl-c and ctrl-x.
ctrl-d has been in heavy rotaion, as I'm hunting for a new apartment and bookmarking up a storm in Firefox. But ctrl-v is my all time favorite. Pasting is when everything become useful, you know?
As I usually work on a laptop, without a mouse, alt-tab gets used more than anything else, although control-home and control-end are tied for a very close second. Mice... who needs em!
~Q
ctrl-w b/c I should spend more time w/ decorating my bare walls and less time w/ the comp!
Definitely Apple S. I tend to get a little paranoid when working on big projects and feel the need to save every few minutes.
ctrl tab in firefox
This combo is by far the most useful for me since I open up tabs upon tabs of websites and it's just like alt tab for windows!
ctrl c. thanx for the contest.
Command T(e) is for me. I miss tabbed browsing when I am at work
ctrl^s I'm always editing things for friends, and need to save the new version with a different name so changes can be easily reversed.
ctrl c/v/a/ and N for opening new tabs! :)
Alt-Enter in Excel, so I can start fresh on a new line, but stay in the familiar little world of the same cell.
Oh, please... Alt-F4 that window... its freezing in here :P
Awesome contest for some awesome artwork... luv'em...
Command C, V, Z and CTRL Spacebar.
ctrl - U
it brings up the page source in firefox. this is how i learned html and javascript. and for no other reason other than i'm a bit of a nerd. ;)
Command tab
I'm constantly going from Filemaker to InDesign to Photoshop to Mail to Safari etc, etc, etc
Command-Z. I only wish I could undo things in my life so easily!
f11 is my fave.
Apple-Z (or Ctrl-Z, if I'm at work). So many times working on off-computer projects have I wished that I had that command in life!
Ctrl Z and Ctrl S are my absolute keyboard saviors!! I love these prints!
ctrl-t in safari makes my desktop soooo much neater when i'm having a surf-attack
hook a brother up mang.
Command tilda is my new favorite for 2 main reasons... 1. its fun to say tilda, 2. i often have a ton of windows open in each application and flipping them between is key
Win U...means I'm going home soon
Too many favorites to choose. Command-H comes in handy pretty often though.
cmd tab and cmd tilda which allows me to switch apps easily and quickly.
Cmd-Z, all the way, to the unhealthy extent that I've caught myself trying to "Undo" in real life...
Loved them the first time I saw them would love them more if I owned them
I would love some of these to brighten up my doldrum office!
This would spiff up my office
⌘-tab, it makes my multi-tasking addiction much easier on my brain. :)
Ctrl - T for new tabs in Safari or Firefox.
I also really did the Ctrl - Enter combo when typing an address in my address bar. It automatically throws on the http and .com. Less typing for me is a good thing. Less to screw up.
alt-tab of course.
ctrl-alt-delete
lol... my silly little BF calls this the "ALTA" key.... Cute posters... would be great for our very long stairwell!!
command-t - I'm obsessed with tabbed browsing in Safari.
ctrl-z (esp after saying something stupid)
I'm in LOVE with command mouse click to get interesting links to open in a new tab in my internet browser. This way I can quickly open links and browse through them when I get a chance later.
ctrl-z... works on design errors doesnt work on the dent in my car... damn
Command S, cause i loose everything
ctrl-alt-del, of course! I always have way too many things open at once, and, suddenly, I realize that I need for a bunch of them to go away, and my old klutzy laptop gets all schizoid on me and the keyboard hangs up.
Is anybody else out there old enough to remember when there was nothing BUT command keys, and an icon was something you found in Eastern Orthodox religions?
The Alt (or Mac Option) copy tool in Adobe.
Control-t to open a new browser tab and control-w to close it.
Command T. and Command Z. I'm always trying to open up more things to look at and undo my life.
These are my Command N favorites! They'd be perfect for the cubical.
ctrl T for new tabs and windows D to minimize everything!
Ctrl Z...saves my butt every time!
ctrl-c/v Always...I'm an editing nut!
ctrl C & ctrl V, saves me SO much time!
APPLE 2 in Illustrator. Lock Layer!
I love ctrl v!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and those prints!
ctrl alt delete saves the day for me at work. If only I could have used it when dealing with people who are getting on my nerves. Bye bye.
Ok these might be kind of cute.
Control z of course for all my mistakes! :)
i use â-tab all the time.. it's so much easier to see and switch between all the apps that are open. these posters look great, btw. thank you!
I assigned altS to make a little section symbol. Boring, I know.
That's glorious. I would totally put that in my office.
For photoshop: ctrl c, ctrl n, ctrl v
Definitely the command-tab so I can scroll through all my windows without lifting my hand from the keyboard.
hmm hard to decide i use so many.
Apple M (Minimize)
It saves me at work when I have to look like I'm working and not cruising apartment therapy online.
control c & v
ctrl Q has saved me may times from people seeing that I am actually not working but am on the internet
Can't live without control C and V.
F9 - fast application switching
c-v definitely
ctrl z - lets just say there are a few things that need to be undone
apple z (oops)
apple-shift-4 (crosshair screenshot)
Ctrl Z. My geeky husband once said he wished life had a Ctrl Z. So true. So true...
These are sooo witty!
apple-Z of course. I sometimes wish I could apple-Z stuff in real life.
definitely command z....i use it all day long....never afraid to try something if you know you can undo
ctrl-n
Especially to open up a finder window. Because I am constantly opening up some elaborate assortment of little files in about 15 applications.
ctrl-F12
In Firefox, it helps me open the last tab... since I'm always accidentally closing the wrong tab.
Command Z
... because I'm always slipping up in Photoshop ...
I adore these prints, I'd love to win!
I would be pulling my hair out at work without c/v. At home, it's all about the command tab.
Thank goodness for [ctrl] [z]!
I've loooved these prints for a month-ish now, but haven't been able to justify ordering them when my walls were already not lacking decoration.
Anyway, I'm a big fan of c/v for browsing the web and s for creating docs. These prints introduced me to w/n, which I've also become a fan of.
ctrl z!
I bought my first Mac the year they were introduced. These prints would look so great in my studio. My fave? C/Z. You never have to say you're sorry!
Hi, I would use Ctrl c! Love the prints! Thanks.
cm_hoppes[at]hotmail[dot]com
For my PC it would be Ctrl F, I'm always looking for something, and it works on the web too! This saves me a lot of time.
For my Mac it would be FN Delete - I finally figured out that it's the equivalent to forward delete!! I know, I know, it may not be a big deal to some of you but I've been a PC user all my life and just bought a Mac - I have yet to figure out some things!
Apple K, in NetNewsWire.
What it does: marks all items as read in the selected feed.
Why it's my favorite: Because I get over 2,000 new RSS items a day (most of them work related), and I have to make room for the feed I get to read for fun: Unplggd. :)
windows keys commands
Apple F.
I'm always getting lost!
Ctrl tab to open new windows in firefox. I hate it when I go to work where we have old versions of everything and try to do the same with explorer.
Very cool. I have a whole new apartment to decorate and these would define my office space.
Apple N - what an easy way to open a new document!!
Apple Z. I just wish it would work in real life too! (Have you guys ever had those moments when you spill something and your left hand tries to press apple z? I do!)
Definitely ctl v for me. Why do the work twice?
control-n! and control-s! (yeah, of course i use control-z all the time too, but my favorites are the times i'm making things, not the times i'm deleting 'em...)
ctrl d : brings up the font and co menu so i can then hide chunks of text that i don't want to see anymore.
command, SHIFT, , so I can SEE you better!!!!
I'm so into cntrl C and cntrl V. Thank you for the giveaway.
oh my!
these are just sitting in my wishpot dying to be hung on my wall!!!
apple-f, apple-t, oh everything :)
Cut-and-paste, ctrl-c & ctrl-v are two of the commands i use the most
adorable, I'd hang them in my office.
ctrl-s is definitly my most used! I find myself doing it even if I'm writing on actual paper!
Cut-and-paste, ctrl-c & ctrl-v are two of the commands i use the most
I'm a Mac support specialist and use a picture of the Apple command key on my business cards. These signs would look great in my office and are an excellent brand compliment! MY most used commands are cmd-s (save), cmd-h (hide), cmd-tab (app switch) and cmd-f (find).
these are awesome. I've always thought there should be a cmd-z for life. I guess a poster would work.
Pick Me.
cool prints. i'm always using alt t (alt tab) for whenever i'm surfing the net while using mozilla to open up more tabs. that way i don't have to look at a page loading and i just love to load more than one at a time.
Thx
My favorite shortcut? Probably going to have to go with ctrlX or ctrlC (for sure I cut more than I copy).
Talk to the hand!
Ctrl C and V
Just one favorite command? I'm a short cut junkie. My fav's are apple Q/alt F4 for a quick closing, apple H to hide your screen, and alt tab for quick switching.
Discovered apple H by accident and was hooked for life.
Love these prints!
ctrl C is what I use most often.
Thanks so much
suzystars9@gmail.com
ctrl c
Apple Shift 3....take a picture it lasts longer :)
These are really wonderful! I really like the Open your Mind one. :)
My most essential shortcut is simply right clicking. It seems like I'm always closing down tabs too quickly and there it is, my savior! It also helps me when merely underlining my misspelled words isn't enough.
As far as keyboard commands go, I gotta go with control-V. Left click/highlight auto copies for me, so I just need that Vomit function. :)
My favorite shortcut is to use Roboform to fill in my name, address, etc. on forms.
My most essential shortcut is Alt 0233 which is é (an e with an accent on it). When I was in college studying Spanish, this shortcut was a lifesaver when I had papers to write!
My favorite is the "right mouse" click
ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste
control C
I use ctrl-c a lot because it is quicker than selecting the copy command from the Edit menu or doing a right-click and selecting it there.
I use CTRL F7 every day. I'm a big wordsmith :)
I use Print Screen a lot.
i love spacebar to stop videos or to scroll down a page
the off button its the only one i know especially when some freak ims me..lol
I use Ctrl F to search. I wish I new what they all meant.
