Tibetan Rugs by Martha Stewart

We like Martha's line of rugs for Safavieh - we blogged the petit point ones earlier, which are bright and homespun. The Tibetan rugs from the collection are more elegant and luxurious - take a peek at our favorite patterns below the jump:

Above the Jump: Constellation - Geometric sun bursts in wool, silk and linen.

Seaflora - Based on a 1920's French art deco textile design. Hand woven, wool, silk and linen.

Ikat Marsh - Inspired by Middle Eastern ogee arches with an ikat dye effect. Blend of wool, silk and linen.

Faux Bois - "False Wood" motif in silk and wool.

Medallions - Large scale Peony flowers done in wool.

Lovely! I think my favorite is the Faux Bois, although I wish it came in some less woodsy color options, like the green/blue seen above.

in what country were they made? i couldnt find specifics in their website.

Any idea on the pricing?

Once at the site, click on View Catalog. The last page of the catalog for Martha tells where each of the rugs styles are made.
China, Belgium, Tibet, Nepal, India (depending on which rug it is).

You'll also see they come in a bunch of colors and MANY sizes.

Then you can click on their locater to see who carries the rugs:

Then you wonder who buys a $10,000 rug that is probably bigger than my apartment and how well said rug holds up to cat puke.

But some are more reasonable. And some designs are quite lovely. I know that a lot of people like wool and silk. But I've seen what moths and beetles DO to wool and silk. I don't want that worry.

Not that Martha would have to reproduce the designs exactly in synthetics, but it would be nice to see her do something like those designs for the FLOR line.

Medallions and Pinwheels would work at FLOR tiles. If they could take the time to match up the edges, the Faux Bois and Bloomery and Astronomy would be nice.

No one will confuse the FLOR tile with the silk and wool rugs from Safavieh, but many more people could enjoy the look in their homes.

Never mind the rugs--where is that skirted couch in the top photo from?

Macy's also has the furniture, but not that specific style online.
