Whenever I see pastel pink appliances, I'm instantly reminded of Barbie's Dream House. But pink has another, more grown-up side to it. Take this sultry little number by Gaita Interiors, which combines the energy, glamour, and exoticism of Bollywood with traditional shaker cabinetry and contemporary finishes.
But how do you keep pink from becoming too saccharine or too precious? The answer seems to lie in incorporating hefty doses of neutralizing black, white, stainless steel, and concrete. The above examples were selected for their sophisticated take on this complex color. Pink may still be too girly for some, but it needn't be childish.

I love the first kitchen - I wish I were that daring.
In that modern white and concrete kitchen, those chairs look like flamingos to me!
The key is the kind of pink you use. All the dark pinks here have more red and black in them than "Barbie" pink.
A question, though... can you clarify the numbering system on posts like this? Is "Picture #1" the first *thumbnail* or the big picture when the post loads?
Love! Perfect inspiration right now...
Yech! Nope, still disgusting. Barbie dream house for the lose.
I do like the idea of the deep & bright pinks - particularly the first picture. But I don't think food would look very appetizing in that color environment.
I love the color! I think food would look appetizing. It is very reminiscent of the Asian lacquers with blacks and reds, which were designed for catching the light when dining by lantern. Sexy.
Wowwwww! #1 is amazing.
Patrick (ToO), on my screen the 1st thumbnail and the pic that loads are the same, if that helps?

Thanks! Same here (now!).
I really love white kitchens with natural raw wood and concrete, simple materials and not too modern or contemporary.
The I see that red one as wow that is stunning, I don't think I could do that.
I really love the forth one its so simple this has to be in Europe.
I wonder which sun exposure the red kitchen is getting cause if too much sun it could be really electric but I guess that is what blinds are for.
Wow, I love the first kitchen. That's so beautiful. However, my husband would never let me. :)

Meeeoow. I would make my kitchen look like that first one in a heartbeat...
Swooon...I think I am in love with #1!
I just can't. I just can't. #1 is horrible.
Never in a million years. And good luck with re-selling that.
i'd prefer medium toned woods and keep the paint off the cabinets probably. love the last one, india knight's fuschia walls. there are plenty of ways to counter bright pink: grey, lavendars, plums, black, browns. Just work off your undertone.
The first one is too much for me, but I really like the last two. The very last is more helping though, because it's actually something I could do.
(am currently collecting pink looks to show and convince my boyfriend that it can be so cool)
That pink kitchen would be a huge selling point if I were buying a house... I would give up a half bath for that. Too bad I'm not the norm.
Greattt!!!!!!!Two months ago I painted my kitchen this exact pink (like the last one), I LOVE IT, it gave life to a grey kitchen. After a lot of talk with my boyfriend, I convinced him! Not an easy color for men to like!
thats one hot (pink) kitchen.
love them. LOVE them.
Actually I think the first one IS sexy. I love that dark pink and country-like cabinets.
BLISS!!! xo
Dislike #3 but see things I like in all the rest. #4 is particularly fabulous, but the color is the least of it. That arched nook over the cooktop is awesome.
Yum. bakes me want a pack of Bubblicious. I may do pink cabinetry when I move into a home I'll be willing to stay in for 30 years.
