This reinterpretation of the classic secretary desk takes our breath away. Canadian designer Shannon McLeod's desk, the appropriately named Tidy, would be a great workspace in an older child's room. We especially like the fold down lid. Up, and this functions as a great desk for a laptop user. Down, and your child has a large surface for creative work.
For a small desk this has a good amount of storage, and we love that at the end of the day, you can close the lid to hide clutter. The Tidy desk is made of white oak, stainless steel, and white lacquered MDF. $2900.00 (CAN$)

fantastic!
i only wish they would put a grommet hole in the desk portion. how great would that be to keep your laptop under there when you aren't using it?!
is there some way of securing the top up? I am having visions of the desk being bumped and fingers smashed...
Put a mirror inside the lid and you'd have a slick dressing table! (for the mama, of course.)
Yep. It is downright *astonishing* how much 'stuff for the nursery' might also be 'stuff for me'. All in the guise of teaching the little nippers the basics of good design, naturally.
